1992 Acura Integra GS-R
1992 Acura Integra Description
This is a mechanically sound, ERY honest GS-R in need of exterior cosmetics only. Those are real miles on the car. I bought it from a local EBay seller approximately 4 years ago. My plan was to do all the mechanical deferred maintenance, hen work on cosmetic. Life intervened (as so often it does), nd I am moving to a house with no garage. The car has been garaged these past 4 years. I bought it with about 92k miles on it, think. I drive it to work once a week to exercise it and that's about it. It runs GREAT--just like a new GS-R. I will give you all the honest facts about the car. This is a reserve auction and it is a reasonable reserve. If I can't get a reasonable amount for what I have in the car, 'll keep it under a cover and do the paint eventually. Car has not been driven in rain or snow.
What I have done and have receipts for in the past 5k miles:
timing belt
water pump
belts
plugs
power steering line
catalytic converter (the old one was not clogged, ut it was old and it made sense to replace)
rear pipe and muffler
all brake rotors and pads, nd one rear caliper (others were fine)
all fluids and filters
throttle body cleaning
4-wheel alignment
What is good:
-Interior is in very good shape--seats and carpet are very good. There is one small nick in the inside bottom bolster of the driver's seat that can be sewed up or sealed. You can't normally see it. Has original mats.
-A/C is cold, eat blows hot. All ventilation controls work.
-Locks, indows, eleases, tc. all work fine.
-All gauges and lights work fine.
-Wipers and washers A-OK.
-Car runs great and VTEC functions as it should.
-Motorized seatbelts work fine.
-Brakes and parking brake are great.
-Tires have lots of tread but are a little hard from aging rubber. They are not dry rotted and are OK.
-Moonroof works great.
-Radio and CD player are OK.
-Transmission and clutch are great. No noises, ice and smooth.
-Car has a DEI alarm with remote locking. Works fine, ut will run the battery down if not on a tender after a couple of weeks.
What it needs:
-Obviously, aint. It has been painted on one side--I suspect from vandalism. In general, hough, hat the car needs is its paint stripped, ost of the trim renewed or replaced, nd one dent and ding done at that time.
-Wheels have lost their clearcoat and have some nicks but are straight and true. I planned to refinish them to stock.
-Struts and shocks are tired and make some noises over bumps.
-Cruise control currently inoperative. I have a spare unit included.
-Power antenna mast is good, ut plastic inside is broken, o it is up. The masts are hard to find and it would be criminal to put some cheap aftermarket antenna on it, o I recommend finding a shop that can replace the plastic toothed runner inside. Motor is fine.
-Door and window seals are tired--they don't leak water, ut you can hear air and these are frameless doors. As part of the paint, would certainly replace all the seals, ncluding windshield at that time to be safe.
-ABS (with its separate master cylinder and modulator unit) does not work and will trigger the ABS light after driving 1/4 mile or so. My Acura specialist verified it's not the speed sensors; it's the master cylinder. It only affects ABS and Acura wants $1600 or so for the part. Considering how primitive the ABS was anyway, can't see anyone other than a true perfectionist replacing it. Car's regular brake system is just fine.
Included:
Books, ecords
All 3 ORIGINAL keys (2 masters and valet), nd 2 working remotes
Mats
Rare center armrest in good shape
spare cruise control module
If you loved these cars back in the day, his is one of the last that has not been abused, dulterated, r otherwise chewed up. Once painted, ou will have a nearly new GS-R--a real time machine.
