1963 Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint, mid restoration, engine almost done, spare engine
1963 Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint Description
Taken apart by its previous owner in 1973 and carried away in its baskets a few years ago. It's very solid with the holes shown in the pictures and surface rust from being stored for over 40 years on jackstands in a dirt floor garage. (And we thought the wheels were on the floor!) The engine has been gone through and has new rod bearings, pistons and cylinders checked with new piston rings, a valve job, appropriate valve shims, new timing chain, and rebuilt Solex carbs. A recored radiator, sandblasted and coated air filter box, air crossover, and radiator surround are to be added in the coming days. Once it starts the price will go up.
The rear bumper is not shown. All of the chrome needs to be rechromed. Only one small headlight surround is missing.
The spare engine has a block, head, crank, oil sump, cams, piston liners, etc. It doesn't have rods and pistons.
The 2600 is in NE Ohio and can be delivered for a fee all the way to Kansas City as well as 200 miles east, north, and south.
