1968 ALFA ROMEO GT VELOCE 1750
This 1968 Alfa Romeo GT Veloce 1750 is a example featuring GTAm-style flares and 15″ Alfaholics wheels, and a Weber-carbureted 1,779cc twin-cam four. An extensive mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment was completed. Work included overhauls of the engine, driveline, suspension, and brakes, as well as rewiring the electrical system. Finished in white over a reupholstered black skai interior, the car is also equipped with a rack-and-pinion steering conversion, Koni shocks, and a custom aluminum fuel tank and battery box. The headlights, turn indicators, reverse light, and tail lamps and all gages and components work as they should. The Quadrifoglio stickers and sun visor are vinyl, so they can be removed by the next owner if wanted.
Toyo Proxes are mounted on the 15” Alfaholics wheels originally used on the factory GTAm. Red-painted brake calipers are plumbed with new hard lines and stainless braided hoses. A modern dual-circuit master cylinder and booster replace the factory items. Koni shocks and aftermarket lowering springs are fitted at each corner.
The cabin is trimmed in new black skai upholstery and flying buttress seats features matching carpets along with a “snakebite” headliner.A Nardi steering wheel fronts the factory Veglia gauges. 50k miles are shown on the odometer.
The original matching drive train is a 1,779cc DOHC inline-four that has been fully reconditioned and features twin DCOE Webers with velocity stacks. Cooling is managed by an all new aluminum radiator and a thermostatically-controlled electric fan. A recent compression test revealed between 190-200 psi across all four cylinders . Long-tube stainless headers are tied into a center muffler and GTA stinger rear exhaust from Alfaholic's Power is routed through the rebuilt 5-speed manual gearbox that shifts with no issues or grind next come the rebuilt driveshaft and rear axle. Fuel is held in a aluminum fuel tank in the refinished trunk along with the battery.A steel guard helps protect the finned aluminum oil sump, and gravel guard has been applied to floors and underside. The steering system was converted from the factory Burman box, center link and idler arrangement to a rack and pinion, which is mounted behind the front crossmember.
