1965 AMC Rambler Marlin. Originally red with black bucket seats. Has the original 327ci V8 and automatic transmission. This car was loaded at the time with not only the upgraded high end motor but also power disc brakes and power steering.
The bad is that this car came from Illinois and the salt got to the underneath of the car. You can see where the salt from the driver's shoes ate away the aluminum sill plates and front floor pans. The rear quarters (inner and outer) of the car are gone and the rear frame rails are very thin and weak (see pics). All of that will have to be replaced. The front wheel wells don't look too bad though.
The original engine and transmission are there. The engine is stuck but I think its just due to the car sitting almost a decade outside. The oil and transmission fluid in the car are fresh so I think if you use some oil down the cylinders the engine can be freed up. This car came from a large estate sale and I was told that all of the cars with engines in them ran when they were parked.
Above the waterline this car is in great shape and pretty straight. There is one ding in the drivers side rear fin though. Rust is pretty minimal every where else. There is no rust in the upper body or cowl. The interior is in decent shape as well. It appears the car was just driven and then parked one day.
The 4 original hub caps come with the car. They are in good shape as well.
I have included a pic of another red 1965 Marlin to show what this car COULD be when restored.
Let me know if you have any questions.
