1970 AMC AMX Base Hardtop 2-Door Description

Pictured is my "Barn Find" 1970 American Motors AMX 2 door hardtop. This AMX is just about as nice an AMX as you will find. As this car was a "barn find" it still has the original, unmolested drive train showing 77K actual miles (not "exempt") on the odometer. The engine runs smooth with no knocks, smoke, burps, farts, or any other strange noises. The transmission shifts smoothly in all gears and there are no issues with the synchronizers while shifting up or down. This AMX was a special order car with the paint color being the AMC Special Ordered 94A Moroccan Brown Metallic. The paint is less than two years old, and is the only AMX I have ever seen with this exterior color and is only one of about twenty-five or so 1970 AMX's ordered with this Exterior/Interior color combination. All of the lights, bumpers, and trim were pulled off the car for paint, then cleaned and reinstalled (see pix of the car in the paint booth.) Car has new brakes all around including new power brake booster/master cylinder as well as new front and rear shocks. Clear Florida title showing the accurate actual mileage, not "exempt" and I will provide a Bill of Sale along with title.

The Data Plate reads as follows: Body: R015227, Model: 7039-7, Trim: 036F, Paint: 94A. Full disclosure: This was a "barn find" AMX so the original "scoop inserts" that were in the bumper did not come with this car when I purchased it. Since I could not locate these scoops anywhere, I found and installed a set of turn signals from a Javelin that I installed just to fill the slots, but they can be easily removed if you don't like them. Also, when I purchased this car the wiring was a basket case so this car has been completely and professionally rewired from scratch using the original schematics and aircraft grade wiring. The one item not followed from the schematics was the grounds. Poor grounding being an issue on classic cars as they get older. This issue was addressed by each circuit having it's own ground, so grounding problems should never be an issue with this car. I will also be happy to provide the name and phone number of my wiring guy should you have any questions regarding the wiring of this car. I have sold and shipped several cars and will assist in shipping in any way possible. My EBAY rating speaks for itself, so buy with confidence. Any questions simply ask.
