1962 AMC Other 400 Description

I have a solid wagon I would like to sell or trade. I purchased it to build a straight axle gasser, but I really hate to cut up a 55 year old car that is this original and complete. It is covered in surface rust, but the only corrosion is in the driver's floor right under the gas pedal. It is a hole maybe 5" in diameter. NO RUST in any of the other floors, fenders, rockers, tailgate, etc. This caris solid. If you read about the old ramblers, they had a four step painting process in which the entire body structure was submerged into a tank of chromate primer. All told, the paint process included four steps: the Deep Dip phosphate rustproof paint bond, rustproofing, a baked primer and surface coat, and two color coats of baked enamel. In addition, this car has factory undercoating.
It is a straight 6 aluminum block motor with an automatic three speed transmission. It has a driveshaft (no torque tube) and rear leaf springs. It has power steering and a full set of factory tinted glass that is in great shape. Full set of hubcaps. The rare metal trim on the four door panels is all there and in very good condition. Even has a factory roof rack and tie downs.
I think the only things missing are a piece of chrome for the tailgate, the radio, and the cigarette lighter.
