1968 AMC AMX Description
This car was fully restored using a rotisserie back in 2014. In fall of 2016, the car was completed with fuel performance add-ons including new fuel cell, pumps, lines, etc. In all, over $60K worth of upgrades. The car is fully documented and tactfully customized with modern components. Its exterior features include custom paint and rear spoiler, shaved door handles with remote electric door pops and the wipers were also removed. Green LED lighting in front grille, car interior and inside trunk. It has custom taillights and rides on new American Racing rims with fresh Mickey Thompsons. The interior features impeccably installed modern gauges in an excellent dash with green backlighting, leather seats, and new carpet and headliner. There is also a 2400-watt Hyphonic/Kicker sound system that is smart device activated. (iPhone/iTunes, etc.) It has the original 390 motor .030 over, solid lifter, balanced and blueprinted, aluminum heads and intake, MSD ignition, ceramic headers. The electric fuel pump and battery are in the trunk. Aluminum heavy-duty radiator, dual electric fans, billet pulleys, canister and power steering pump. The engine bay is fully detailed with powder-coating. It also has the original Borg-Warner T-10 rebuilt transmission, heavy-duty clutch and pressure plate, narrowed 10-bolt rear with posi-traction (3.73), heavy-duty axles and suspension, power brakes (disc front, drum rear) and power steering. There is Imron paint on the underside of the car along with a completely detailed undercarriage. All the original parts also available: heads, intake, carburetor, air filter assembly and wiper motor assembly. This is the best of both worlds: documented and original, yet customized with modern reliability.
