1969 AMC AMX Go Package Description

AMC was quite a corporate automotive rebel during its time on the scene, and while some of their offerings may have veered a little too far from the norm for many buyers' tastes, their muscle cars were distinctive as opposed to flat out eccentric and have come through the years with perennially appealing designs and an unflagging legion of admirers. Case in point is this 1969 AMC AMX with the Go Package. It's looking sharp, running with plenty of vitality and carries its original colors both inside and outside to go along with a numbers-matching drivetrain. AMC's flair for the unique extended even to the naming of its colors, and the very magnetic shade spread over its exterior was referred to as Big Bad Blue on the AMC color chart back when this '69 debuted. Its Go Package status brings with it the dual striped decals running over its hood, roof and deck lid, as well as the aluminum air dam positioned below its front end, both of which have come through the years in good condition. With its solid exterior alignment, wide set headlights bracketing a fresh-looking black front grille and a distinctive semi-fastback rear roofline, this '60s muscle car cuts a commanding presence just as it is, but a freshening up of its paint, as well as some well-placed attention on its brightwork, would make it even more so. The black vinyl interior offers just the vintage driving atmosphere you'd want in a classic like this, while also featuring some of the individuality AMC became known for over the years. The front buckets are accented by a diagonal stitching and are well padded and in good condition, with the exception of a very small hole in the driver's seat. The black carpeting running the length of the floor, as well as the door panels to each side, are in very solid condition. The unmistakable sight of the Hurst shifter sitting between the buckets makes you want to take your position in the driver's seat and run through the gears to see what this unique looking muscle car can do. In front of the woodgrain, AMC-branded steering wheel, the factory gauges in the instrument cluster are clear and very readable and the commanding woodgrain accent in the middle of the clean-looking dash looks fresh and well-maintained. The trunk area in back looks to be in good order and well-detailed with a vinyl liner on its floor and a space saver spare on hand inside. This AMX is very much ready to hit the road just as soon as you get it home, as it's running great. The numbers matching 343 cubic inch Typhoon engine under the hood still carries its original Carter 4-barrel carb and acquits itself well - when you step down on the accelerator it even seems to possess more than its advertised 285 horsepower. It sounds great through its Flowtech mufflers, and teams with an also-original 4-speed manual transmission that shifts securely and puts maximum control in the hands of the driver. Front disc brakes offer increased fade resistance, the 4.10 Twin Grip posi provides blazing, sure footed off the line acceleration, while the featured handling package improves corner carving ability. This sharp looking classic rolls on a set of 14" stock AMC wheels wrapped with bias ply Firestone tires. The underside has been painted and its components look very solid and well-prepped. This 1969 AMC AMX represents an important chapter in automotive history and offers an awesome driving experience. Call today!
