1974 AMC Javelin
I have owned this car for over 4 years and have enjoyed it thoroughly. I am only selling so I can purchase another car that is on my bucket list.
Mechanical
Original 232 six cylinder with a manual three speed on the floor. Front disc brakes and power steering. Runs and drives great. Very dependable- I would drive anywhere! I did buy a 1971 AMC 360 V-8 to replace the straight six but never got to the project - was hesitant to pull out a great running engine. The 360 motor came out of an AMC Matador with 73k original miles. I also bought a V-8 cross member and other components needed to make the conversion. The 360 is not included with the auction but I will sell it for $850 including all conversion parts (same price I paid) if you buy the car.
Body
Looks great from 10 feet but paint is older and has some flaws when you look close. Still presentable and even won an award from a local car show. There is some bondo in quarters. A few patches on the floor and in trunk, but not a rust bucket.
Interior
Someone dyed the interior black and it is holding up great. Dash and door panels are very nice. Seats are not ripped but are the original velour in a tan color, which is why it has seat covers. I was thinking about reupholstering them but they looked good enough for me.
This is a cool car that can be driven and enjoyed as it is, or take it to the next level. I always get thumbs up and lots of questions about what it is! Dare to be different!
Opening bid is the least I will take for the car and I will let the auction run until the end. Please only Bid if you intend on buying. If you would like to talk to me about the car, please email me your phone number and I will gladlycall you.
Thanks for looking
