1969 American Motors AMX Sport Coupe 5,279 Original Miles Serial Number 8,212 of 8,293 Made 390ci/315hp 4bbl V8 4-Speed Manual Go Package (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are not presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) Garage Kept Motors is... honored to bring this rare, original, and sought-after AMX to market. American Motors only produced the AMX as a 2-seater muscle car from 1968 to 1970. Compared to its rivals of the day, it was a smaller car but was offered with a big, 315 horsepower, 390 cubic inch motor. Let's just say it was hard to keep up with one in any other vehicle. The example offered here is an award winner, the staple of a local collection, and has just 5,279 original miles and remains all original. This 1969 AMC AMX is finished in factory original Bittersweet Orange (code 79A) paint over the original Saddle (code 936F) interior. It remains original from top to bottom. The paint, which appears like a Copper color, shows characteristics of factory paint of that time period. It is a non clear coat metallic and shows typical factory orange peel, but overall remains in excellent original condition. The fit and finish on the body panels are clean and accident free. Original chrome and trim are also flawless. On the inside you'll find a time capsule. Highlights include all original upholstery, original carpeting, original headliner, original headrests, AM radio, 8000rpm tachometer, floor stick shift with reverse lock out, and a 140mph speedometer. The dashboard is mint with wood accents and the AMX badge down the middle, stating this car is number 8,212. Under the hood, we find the heartbeat of this AMX. This car was ordered with the X Code 390ci/315hp 4bbl V8, AMC's most powerful engine, and it has only 5,279 miles recorded on it. According to the paperwork we have, the motor was mechanically gone through in 2006. Everything was put back to factory specifications. The underside is also original and consistent with the car's low mileage. Suspension components were restored as well. All together, you won't find a cleaner AMX. This is a true collector car. This vehicle was the pride and joy of a high end collection here in West Michigan. This car was the clear favorite, stored with two car covers. It is a low-mileage, original AMX with limited numbers produced. It has been judged and has taken home several trophies for originality. You will be hard pressed to find another one like it.
