HERE SHE IS - the oneyou have been waiting to find! Withgreat reluctance, we are selling our 1986 AMC Eagle Sedan. This is a one-owner barn find - but in our barn! We bought this car new in 1986 & droveit, along with several of our other AMC Eagles at the time. Only 38,000 miles. Always garaged.
About 15+ years ago we moved to a farm & literallycovered up the car & let her sit in the barn.
This baby is all original -and just waiting for someone to bring her back to life.
The awesome:Garnet red, automatic, power windows, power locks, power seats, cloth seats, vinyl top, consolegauge package. 258 ci straight 6 cyl, - boots look solid. Undercarriage andsubframes are very solid, with minimal surface rust. There is air blowing, but it has not beenwarm enough to confirm it is air conditioning. The car starts right up!!! Runsfor a minute & drops down to idle. The radio & cassette player both work. The carpeting is in excellentcondition. Minimal door dings &stone chips. It has never been in anaccident or had any damage. It goes up& down the road, but we have not ventured out beyond that. You will get the owner’s manual & aChilton’s Repair & Tune-up book & even a copy of the original sticker.
What it needs: Muchof the needs are because of sitting for so many years. It needs brakes & you will want thebrake lines checked. The quarter tankof gas in it was probably $1.00/gallon.There is an exhaust leak that seems to be from the catalytic converteron back. The infamous AMC headliner issagging. The driver’s back door willclose & latch, but not snug. Theradiator should be flushed & checked. The tires have excellent tread, but are 30years old. There was a cigarette burn onthe front carpet, which we covered quite well. (But want to be honest about it.) There is a 1” cloth patch in the backseat. We have no idea who did thatrepair or why - just too many yearsago. The fuel pump is leaking. The power steering fluid is leaking – probablya hose. There appears to be some bubbling under the vinyl top on the right C-pillar. And there is some paintchecking on the right rear fender. Many more pictures available! Feel free to ask for any close-ups or specifics.
