1962 AMC Other Description

Up for auction is this 1962 AMC rambler Station Wagon.
We have decided to sell a few cars from our collection to finish some of our other projects we are working on. This AMC wagon has been one of our absolute favorite cars !
This wagon is a super solid original Wagon with amazing Patina ! This car gets alot of attention and is always a conversation piece no matter where you go with her ! It is not very often that you see an unrestored Wagon in this nice of condition.
This Cross Country has the original inline 6 cylinder engine and transmission.
This is an extremely low rust car that runs and drives with working brakes.
All of the doors open and close nicely and the rear window rolls down good as well. The tailgate also opens and closes like it should. This car also has the original spare in its rust free spare tire compartment.
This is an unrestored original AMC wagon that runs and drives. We have not had this car on long trips but have recently driven it around town on multiple occasions and have started and moved it around many times. The motor runs great but does sound like it will need to have a valve adjustment at some point. There is a slight ticking sound while it is running. We also noticed that upon cold start up there is some blue smoke coming from the exhaust which seems to mostly go away when the engine warms up. The fuel in the tank is a few years old mixed with fresh gas so that could be contributing to that.
The motor sounds strong at idle and also when revved up and seems to shift and drive smoothly down the road. We recently took it up to 55-65 MPH and had no issues.
The generator light has been flashing on the gauge cluster but we tested the generator output and it is putting out a solid 13.8 volts at the battery while running so i think that is a faulty reading at the dash.
When we got the car we ended up putting a used ignition switch in it and while doing so we noticed that there were a few wires under the dash that needed to be repaired or replaced and a defunct old push button starter that was installed at one point. All of which looks like it would be an easy repair if you wanted to clean up the wiring under the dash.
This is a really nice old original AMC wagon that will be sure to give the new owners many years of enjoyment and fun.
Good luck on the auction and if you have any questions please send us a message through ebay.
