***If you do not want the Magnum 500's with the Firestone Redline tires I will deduct $750 from the final cost.***
For sale is my 1968 AMX in excellent condition. Purchased from the widow of the original owner in 2005 it had been driven just 45,000 miles since new and never in the winter, have added another 7,775 miles since I have owned it. Engine is the AMC top of the line 390 mated to a 3 speed automatic, rare Edelbrock R4B intake manifold with AMC part number was installed by the dealer prior to delivery when purchased new (along with the group 19 performance cam). I did install a new Edlelbrock carburetor and if you are familiar with the R4B then you know the stock air cleaner could not be used as the R4B raised the carburetor by 1", hus an after market air cleaner was needed. This AMX is a go pack car with all theperformanceadditionssuch posi traction (called twin grip by AMC), .54 gears, tc. Ignition has been upgraded to electronic with the addition of a Crane XR-I which just adds one small wire to the distributor. Power brakes and power steering make her a pleasure to drive. This AMX currently sits on Cragar SS wheels with radials but also included in this sale are a set of Magnum 500's with Firestone Wide Oval Redline Tiresas seen in some of the pictures. Those wheels and tires have less than 100 miles on them, sed for show duty only. You will notice the stance on this AMX is much better then you normally see, hey tend to sag in the back. Original owner had and extra leaf spring installed on each side of the rear to give the car a much moreaggressivelook then stock. This AMX has had but one repaint in 2000 with the rear quarters having been replaced in 2008 When purchased the rear quarters had just a few bubbles in them so I chose to have them replaced a few years later for use in some of the moreprestigiouscar shows. Not wanting bubba body shop to touch my AMX I brought it up to Ohio to have AMX expert body man Bert Mahan do the work with NOS metal quarters. Undercarriage still wears its original undercoating that was applied at the dealership when new; there is zero rust on this AMX. New exhaust system was installed withaluminiumizedsteel to avoid rust along with Flowmaster mufflers, he sound between the cam and the mufflers is intoxicating to say the least!! Interior in very good condition with rally-pac gauges in center pod, eats are in excellent condition as is the carpet. Stock AM radio was converted to AM/FM with RCA inputs by Taymen electrical (a collector car audio specialist)to run items like Ipod (that is what I use all the time), inked to a dual cone speaker to retain stock appearance. Like any 47 year old car she has a couple of chips (2 or 3), he one you can find is in the last picture on the front corner of the hood) as well as a few dings if you look at the right angle, ost cannot be seen with camera but this AMX presentsbeautifully. Chrome in excellent condition (front and rear bumpers were re-chromed after my purchase) trim has never been taken off of the car but is also in very good condition. This AMX was invited to the 2009 Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance where she earned a Palmetto Award as well as an Award of Distinction at the 2010 Ault Park Concours d'Elegance show. She has appeared on the show field at Churchill Downs at the Louisville Concours d'Elegance and at the Kenneland Concours d'elegance. This AMX was honored with the President's Choice award (their highest award) at the 2007 Mopar Southern Classic (AMC is grandfathered into Mopar as they purchased AMC in 1987). An American Motors Owners Association Gold winner in her only showing there, dvancing to the senior division of that organization. . It has been featured on Spike Tv's “Muscle Car” show in 2010 during one of their “flashback” episodes. I cannot link that video but email me and I may be able to send you that video as well as the short Jay Leno interview of this car. Invited to compete at the 2011 Boca Raton Concours d'E'egance show my AMX was selected by Jay Leno (he was the special guest host) for review to be included in the video of that show for his web site, Jay Leno's Garage (the only modern performance car to receive that honor). The next to last picture is one I captured off of that video with Jay and myself. Everythingworks on the car as it should, ll bushings, ines, tc are in excellentconditionhavingbeen replaced under my watch. Email me if more or specific pictures are needed. With this AMX you are getting a few expensive, ard to find if ever items: The R4B intake manifold, ally pac gauges and extra magnum 500s' w/redlines are $3000+ by themselves. Also included is an outdoor car cover, n indoor car cover by Griots Garage (that was a $275 item alone), n ERTL boxed 1968 AMX that is the mirror of this car along with books, hop manual and other small items and parts. I also have a 2 year old 18' open aluminum car trailer that I have used just twice and will sell after I sell the car, ut if buyer is interested in a package I will sell the trailer to the car buyer at a reduced rate. Bidders with less then 5 feed backs please contact me before bidding. A deposit of $500 is required within 24 hours of auction end.Full payment is to be received within 10 days from the end of the auction. Full payment is due before vehicle delivery. Please email me with any questions. This being the winter months I have no problem in storing the car until you are able to pick it up or have your shipper pick it up. I may also be able to deliver within a reasonable distance for $1.00 a mile. By the way a little warning: I recently went to look at 2 AMXs at one of the large consignment dealers and was somewhat shocked to see the cars in personcomparedto their descriptions. Buyers be warned---go look at them before you buy, onsignors from what I have seen have a creative writing staff no doubt!!
