Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this exceptional 3000 MK3 Healey in a special color scheme, as this car was the only one produced by Kurt in Sage/Dark Green. This car was restored approximately 4 years ago and has only accrued a mere 900 miles since then. It has been stored in a climate controlled environment in a car collection in Florida and shows in beautiful as-new condition today. It was 100% restored from the ground-up to a panels-off-the-chassis, nut and bolt, Concours standards. Details of the restoration include the car being completely stripped down to the superstructure and the bare chassis shotblasted. The panels were carefully hand-stripped to bare metal. The chassis was then repaired, primed, painted and then the body panels were fitted up to the superstructure and carefully gapped. Full show quality body and paintwork was carried out in basecoat/ clearcoat system with exceptional results.
Meanwhile, the mechanicals were completely and properly rebuilt including engine and all ancillary components, gearbox, overdrive unit, driveshaft, front and rear suspension, resealed differential, braking system with new steel lines and servo, steering system, fuel system, new exhaust system, radiator, (5) new 60-spoke stainless spoke wheels with radial tires, with new hubs and knock-offs.
The chromework was either replated whenever possible or replaced with new items, a new rubber kit installed along with all new glass, new wiring harness and ancillaries, and all of the original British hardware (nuts, bolts, washers, etc.) was correctly replated. Interior trim was completely renewed with a John Skinner retrim kit featuring leather armrest and seat kits (front and rear), 100% wool carpet kit, new seat foam, Everflex top and top boot, new dashboard wood set in burled walnut, front rubber mat set, seat belts, custom period look alloy/wood wheel.
This car is sold with it's top boot with stowage bag, knock-off hammer, and 5th chrome spare tire and rim. Small upgrades from standard include an alloy finned sump, and a Texas cooler radiator fan.
This car runs, drives, stops, steers, and rides exactly like it should with excellent road manners. It is a very enjoyable and breathtaking motorcar.
This car was only completed approximately 4 years ago, and since then the cost to perform a perfect restoration like this has risen. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a spectacular Kurt Tanner Restorations car in its new, as-delivered condition.
