Up for auction is my 1960 Austin Healey 3000 BT 7 with showing 50,650 miles, purchased from a 17 year prior owner who performed a very attractive and credible partial restoration which presents itself well and gets thumbs up and compliments wherever it goes. The car has virtually new looking paint, convertable top, tonneau cover, interio, 60 spoke chromed wheels and new tires, with a Mota Lita steering wheel.Service since my ownership includes new wheel bearings and grease seals, rotors, brake pads, brake caliper pipeing to calipers hose:front brake hoses and calipers freshly rebuilt by Apple Hudraulics. Also new windscreen glass, with seals :lower rubber seal, and re-chromed window trim.In addition new clutch slave cly. and slave hose, spin on oil filter adaptor. Recent oil change and tune up including carb adjustment and synchronization of carbs.
The car starts right up and runs, drives and shifts through the gears as it should and brakes straight as an arrow. The electric overdrive operates as it should. With exception of erratic fuel guage all other gauges work as they should with 55-60 lbs oil pressure on startup dropping to and staying at 45-50 lbs after 30 minuets on local country roads .Water temp stays at 180-200 degrees in summer tempretures. No leaks from the engine/gearbox but the steering box does show leakage and requires occasional topping . The car does show evidenc of a prior accident at some point in its history as evidenced by a kink in the frame X-boxbut does not effect driveability as outlined above. there is a slight crease on the passenger side dogleg near the passenger door. The car did not come with side curtains.Chrome is bright and doors close with no pressure resistance. All in all the car represents a very attractiv, sound, summer driver which can be enjoyed without breaking the bank or worrying about a chip in the paint given the entry price. Please note that some of the pictures were taken this spring while others taken this past week after vacillating on weather to sell. The condition is the same .The wiper blades and arms were removed when the windscreen was replaced and trim re chromed and I never bothered to reinstall given the infrequent use. They are included. The successful bidder shall be required to pay a $500.00 deposit within 12 hours of auctions end and the balance by wire transfer within 5 days( not business days) of auctions end.
