1960 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite Vintage Race Car Race Prepared Description

Warehouse find! Not being sold for street use--True original Vintage Race Car built in the early 60's from what was very likely a new Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite bought for racing use and not used on public roads.
Many period racing features originally installed:Proper headlight bucket coversCapped off light assembly holesRacing design roll-bar custom fitted into rear bodyAuto World race switch on top of bulkhead (pictured)Heavy duty rear sway bar (pictured)Genuine period vintage lap seat beltsVintage Talbot racing mirrorCustom designed dash with proper Smith guages including tachometer, oil pressure, temperature, and period toggle switchesRacing steering wheelHood pins mounted through hingesGenuine Los Angeles fuel regulator under bonnet driver sideCustom accelerator foot pedalExtra-wide slotted steel racing wheels
Note the dash plaque showing that the car participated in the Mid-Ohio Driver's School appears to be dated 1974.
The body on the car is essentially pristine, with zero rust, and perfectly straight undamaged panels as shown in the photos. The floorboards are excellent, as shown inside and underneath. Rocker panels are perfect. This body is as new as can be found, and appears to have its original British racing Green paint coat, which is actually in very fine condition underneath all the dust, and should polish out nicely! The old residue from racing stickers or magnets once applied is still present on the sides of the car, probably from the numbers that were assigned for the last races.Look at the remarkable original condition of all the structure and paint under bonnet!Included and pictured is a 1275 engine and transmission from a early 70's MG Midget removed from a car many years ago, complete with dual carbs. A few original parts such as the Austin valve cover and miscellaneous bits are pictured in the battery tray.
This car has a history and a pedigree, and would be the perfect car to take to the vintage races! How about the upcoming Walter Mitty Challenge in Atlanta?
Due to the age of the car, if you need a title, it should be easily obtainable in many states. I do not have one for the car, but I checked "clear" on the title choice as eBay had no other option that was applicable, and since I legitimately bought it, the car is unencumbered. The car will be sold with a notarized bill of sale just as I obtained it many years ago. It is pictured in storage in a warehouse in Knoxville, TN, where you may pick it up or send transport. Sold in its "as is" condition.
The car is not for sale locally or outside of this auction, and the reserve is reasonable and shall not be revealed. Please bid only if you are serious. Thanks and Good Luck!
