1967 Austin Healey 3000 'Touring Model' Open Two Seater Roadster Description

The owner wants to divulge any and all issues his car has, allowing the buyer to understand exactly what he is bidding on. The car was repainted the factory original color. The engine runs with excellent oil pressure, does not smoke, idles smooth, shifts up and down gears excellent, the overdive activates and shuts off only in 3rd and 4th gear, activated by the dash switch. The relay with throttle kick down to deactivate the overdrive, most specific to Healeys, has a new overdrive harness wired in but has not been wired to the 12 volt system as the relay and cutout switch were not tested and simply by passed. The wiring harness is the original one- much of the cloth loom has deteriorated and a couple of wires to the dash from the fuse box, that looked tired or lost its pliability, were replaced with new wire. The harness has been wrapped with electrical tape for the majority of it, and functions fine to the point it does not need replacing, but will be left up to the preferences of the buyer to replace in years ahead as ongoing maintenance requires. There is a small star-shaped paint crack in the right rear fender just above the center dividing crease in the fender. It just would not show up in a photo and has to be at just the right angle to notice, but can be detected by the hand. The paint still shows well but has a few small chips that have been touched up and some very fine scratches in the finish, as any paint job more than a year or two old will posess, but overall still has high sheen and a pleasant appearance to it. It does not appear to need a wet sanding but again, the buyers discretion to that type of issue. All other systems- electricals, heating/cooling, hydraulics- steering, horns, alignment, engine temp, oil pressure, all lights- all functioning as they should. The car has a nice ride, shocks work well and at some point the front springs appear to have been upgraded to new.The owners focus has always been to retain originality, but also to upgrade for practicality with modern improvements such as elctronic ignition, alternator, aluminum rad and oil cooler for summer heat, improved strength wire wheels, and just added this week- new Vredestein Sprint Classic radial tires- all improvements made to enhance the driving experience. A new gas tank was also installed in approximately 2015.We have chosen a no reserve auction with a very fair opening bid in good faith to find a new home for this well preserved classic gem.
