I bought the 1965 Austin-Healey 3000 MK III BJ8 in 1997 from someone in my area ( Huntington, NY ), who had bought the car the previous year in Maryland. He did nothing to it and I have no idea of its' history prior to 1996. I re-did the interior and got things running right, including having all the rust removed from the frame. I've done no body work on the car, it's as I got it.The odometer reads 6,533, but I'm sure it's wrong. I've only put on about a 1,000 of those miles. More than 95% of the driving is around town ( I've never had it out in the winter or the rain ). Someone gave me spare parts for the Healey he had in his garage. Extra set of wheels, a transmission, and some spare parts.
Yes;the car has problems, but nothing major that I know of. There is a little rust through in the trunk. The exhaust system has a few holes. The tach doesn't work. I've had to tape on the steering wheel cap. The car could use a full tune-up. I'm sure there are other minor problems ( It's not a 100 pt. car ).
Please;feel free to come or have someone come and inspect the car. I can be emailed questions at bwmiller0404@gmail.com. The car is very drivable and I believe a bargain for the reserve I'm asking. Good Luck.
