1966 Austin Healey 3000 Mark III Phase II Description

This is a long term restoration, new to the road. It has become an automotive sculpture, as a fresh and new Austin-Healey 3000 MK III PHII BJ8; nearly like it is right from the showroom...
The last of the 3000 series, the MKIII PHII BJ8 model represents one of the most sought-after and collectible of all the classic British Sports-Cars. Its legacy in the rallies of the 1960's created a legend that lives on in the high price that the final of the "Big Healey's" command. The BJ8's are the most luxurious, weather tight, and powerful of all the Austin-Healey's. They have steadily increased in value since the 1960's and continue to do so today. This would be a great investment vehicle for someone with a passion for classic sports cars, but someone who wants a well sorted out car, without having to do all the work to get it there...
There are several levels of Healey's currently listed on E-Bay; This example stands on its own in many ways... The NEW components were sourced, fine tuned, and installed this calendar year!... so the rubber components are fresh! The NEW convertible top comes with a manufacturers warranty! Exterior...The clean and rust free body has crisp and clean paint, and has been assembled with clean well selected hardware and fasteners.

-The exterior has been buffed, polished, and three coats of wax applied. New Door Mirrors.

The clean and rust free under-carraige and chassis is sealed in quality paint.

Brakes... New Master Cylinder, New Brake Booster, New Wheel Cylinders, New Calipers, New Caliper Paint, New Stainless Steel Braided Brake Hoses,New Shoes and Brake Pads, New Springs, Rotors Skimmed for Smooth Operation, New Paint on Drums, Springs, Rebuilt Adjusters; all road tested and adjusted.....

Engine.... Fresh engine mechanicals. Initial fire-up pre-lubed with added zinc, followed by an initial burntime of 20 minutes at 2000 RPM. At completion of initial fire up the Engine Oil was drained, then New filter, Oil, and zinc additive was installed. Engine sounds and runs good. Pulls strong and steady. Oil pressure and coolant temp. stable and steady.

Freshly rebuilt HD8 Carbs, synchronized with dual gauges.

Awesome engine compartment lights: ready for the evening shows.

Transmission: interiorhas been glyptol coated and has crisp clean gears. Oildrained and overdrive sump strainer cleaned; New oil,overdrive has been adjusted. Transmission cleanly shifts through the gears, andin and out of the A-type overdrive.

Misc:Detailed rear end,New clutch hydraulics, New Hydraulic Reservoir,New exhaust system, New Fuel Pump, NOS Fuel Tank, painting and detailing through-out,new grommets through-out.

Suspension...New Wheel Bearings: pressure greased andshimmed, New Paint, New Hardware, fresh and new Bushings.

Electrical... New Wiring Harness, connectors fluxed and soldered, and assembled with di-electric grease.

This automobile is well sorted, ready for road trips or weekend shows.

The factories have long since closed, and No more Austin Healey 3000's are being made, and many of the existing examples are being over-priced.
