1969 Austin America
1969 Austin Description
The car runs and drives. Body is clean and rust free. The only rust I know of is a small area where the heater core leaked at one time (it has been replaced). All glass is good, and new seals have been installed on the front and rear windscreens. The Hydrolastic "bags" are good, but have been isolated. The result is a very bouncy ride, and I recommend installing new lines to tie the front and rear bags together, as original. The interior is nice, aside a somewhat tatty headliner. Sunvisors are present, but clips are not.The windows all operate as designed. The car currently has an MG1100 engine and four speed gearbox installed. The gearbox jumps out of fourth gear when decelerating. The brake master cylinder is new, but the rear wheel cylinders need to be replaced (they are included), and the calipers need new seals (they are included). The paint can be buffed to be presentable, but is by no means perfect. If desired, the buyer may have a good 1300 power unit as original, but it must be removed from a 1963 Austin Mini Cooper by the new owner at my location.Four hub caps and beauty rings are included.I planned to finish this car and drive it but unforeseen medical conditions have brought my mechanic days to an end.
I strongly suggest a personal inspection of this car. It's old and it's British.I have limited movement, and will take picture requests as much as possible. A visit to see the car would be much more accurate than any picture.I am certain to have missed some items, but none intentionally. If not satisfied with the car, I will refund the buyer's purchase price, minus my listing fees, ONLY IF they have personally inspected the car. Otherwise, the sale is As-Is and final.
I will provide reasonable assistance to buyer to get vehicle, but will accept no financial obligation in doing so.PayPal will be accepted for deposit only. Balance will be COD.
