1972 Austin Mini Cooper - Widebody / RWD / Tube Chassis / Caged & Street Legal
1973 Austin Mini Cooper Description
We collect cars, motorcycles and military vehicles and are currently in the process of moving to California from Massachusetts. We had no intention of EVER selling this one from our collection but unfortunately the costs of moving multiple vehicles and bikes across the country has totaled to a small fortune so to offset some of our costs we are going to let go of a couple in order to cut some costs with the transition.
This is a 1973 Mini Cooper with a standard clean title and original VIN number. The car is a street legal nostalgic race car built on a tube chassis by a race chassis manufacturer based in Canada where the car itself was built. The engine is a 2.2L Mazda 4 cylinder mated to a manual transmission and a solid RWD axle. The car is on fully adjustable coil over suspension with a full roll cage. Inside is a Sparco quick connect system for the new and hardly used Sparco 330 Suede Steering Wheel. The seats are Porsche 911 GT3RS style fixed back racing seats finished in black leather. The body is entirely composite so the car is extremely light and nimble. The front end tilts forward and there is a spare tire in the rear boot attached to the frame work within. There is a head unit with removable face installed as well. I removed the original stock seat belts and plan to install 5 point racing harnesses but have not yet had the chance to do so. I really do not want to sell this car but it is easier than adding another $3,000 transport charge to the already sky high bill for transporting all of the others.
The seats were installed recently and have only been sat in 4-5 times and the steering wheel was installed shortly before them so it is also fairly new. The carpet work in the car is what I would consider "race car type upholstery" - There was two 6x9" speakers behind the seats that were removed which left a spot cut out of the carpet behind the seats. The car is clean and in good condition but is used and therefore normal signs of wear are to be expected. I of course prefer a local sale and always prefer dealing in person or allowing buyers to see the vehicle in person but do not mind shipping if a buyer wants to mediate a transport company to do so. The mileage on the car is exempt due to it's age but the motor swap was done with 80k on the engine at the time that the owner prior to me noted the mileage, he put less than 5000 on the car and I have put less than 1000 on it so I am no certain of the exact mileage - please note this as Ebay requires a number to be inserted into the listing however I am not sure of the exact mileage.
The car is located in Somerville Massachusetts and can be seen in person anytime by local parties but for those who are unable to do so I have a great deal of photos of the vehicle that I can send if any are missing here.
I store a few of my vehicles in Framingham where fabrication work is done and prefer a straight sale however I would entertain a trade to locals for something that I would store in Massachusetts until a later date when I could factor in shipping another car across the country - My interests would be : Rat Rods / Mercedes 300GD or 240GD / Military Vehicles / Pinzgauer / Unimog / Porsche 911 / TVR / Lotus / Land Rover / 240z / 260z / 280z / BMW / Mercedes.
Disclaimer : This is a final sale, there are no warranties, refunds or returns offered or implied here so please ask any and all questions, view the vehicle in person if possible prior to bidding or negotiating.
