Putting up for sale my favorite Mini, this is a 1980 Austin Mini 1000 with some heavy modifications. This is a real RHD car imported from England. This is the fastest mini I have ever driven, and I have been using it as my daily driver for months. Clean Arizona title.
The body shell has been recently painted in a light blue. Brushed aluminum piping on roof and sides. Wide flares and a lowered stance for grip. It still has its UK plates as well. The quarter glass has been replaced with plastic racing glass. A full bolt in roll cage has been fitted with a cross bar. It also has quick spring hood latches.
Interior is all race spec. Cobra racing seats with 4 point harnesses on each. Black carpeted interior with black door cards and alloy hardware. Wood dash with alloy plate housing fuel cut off and oil pressure, and an auxiliary GPS speedometer. Aftermarket steering wheel is the perfect size for autocross.
Powertrain is a 1380 A-Series with high compression 5 port head. Triple wrapped headers flow down to a very racey exhaust. Long runner tunnel ram intake meets up to a weber DOCE 45 Carburetor boxed into the firewall. X-Pin 4 speed gearbox with Limited slip and hardened axle shafts. Running on 100 octane with a timing boost this car produced 87 Hp to the wheels, I have a dyno sheet from its time in the UK to prove that. That may sound low to you, but the car only weighs 1502 pounds- Also can prove that I had it measured by ridetech. Silicone coolant hoses and new radiator make it run cool on the track and the road. Front 4 pot brakes with slotted and drilled rotors. Fully adjustable suspension with camber and castor adjustments. Race cones and adjustable shocks. Poly mounts and bushings make it a very tight car, and all of this rides on 12" revolutions with brand new super grippy yokohama tyres. Many new parts fitted, freshly serviced, new coil, new hoses, new radiator, new fuel pump, list goes on.
In the boot it hasan extendedfuel tank, and a battery cut off. It can run on 91 and octane booster if you detune it- but I would recommend 100- and you must use a lead substitute. The car is very loud, as it has an open race exhaust but you can easily add another muffler. It IS street legal. You may have seen this car race at Goodguys, and I do daily it on the freeway so I am sure you may have at least heard of it. This is a very fast car- very fun and a breakneck head turner. I am NOT interested in trades.
