1986 BMW 3-Series es Description

I'll cut right to it, There are issues with this car if you want to try to turn it back into a driver. It's been sitting in my garage since 2010 and hasn't even been started since then. It has nearly 300k miles on the original engine and transmission. The paint is pretty rough and thoroughlyoxidized. There is a gremlin in the electrical charging system. This may be the alternator or the voltage regulator, I never chased it down. Unfortunately, I wasn't planning on leaving the car sitting 6 years, so it wasn't properly prepped for storage. The leather seats are torn and would likely need to be recovered or replaced. As is pretty common on these cars, the front air dam has some damage. The battery is dead, but a replacement battery showed that the electrics worked, but I haven't tried to start it.
Prior to being parked it was my daily driver for over 6 years. It was mostly reliable in that time and I regularly drove it across two states without a concern. I also upgraded it with numerous after market parts.
It has Borbet Type H 15 inch alloy wheels with Kumho Ecsta tires, also included are steel wheels mounted with Nokian Hakkepelitta winter tires.The suspension was upgraded with Eibach Springs, Bilstein sport shocks, and M3 solid control arm bushings.The exhaust is a complete custom set up from the engine back, starting with headers leading to increasing diameter pipes with a free flow catalytic converter and free flow muffler. It was smogged in Allegheny County, PA and passed with room to spare.The ecu was chipped with a German chip, and ran fine.The fuel injectors were pulled and sent out to be cleaned and flow mapped.Spark plug wires were replaced with Bavarian Autosport High performance wires.Interior add ons include center console with cup holder, M shift knob, machined aluminumpedal set.The air filter is an AFE free flow performance lifetime air filter.The parts alone are worth more than the starting price.
