As a huge fan of the e30 series, my main intent for this car has been to keep it as stock and as close to the original BMW vision as possible. However, I have made a handful of upgrades to bring this car up to some more modern safety and comfort levels.
The biggest change was a swap from automatic to manual at 192k, using a manual transmission with 165k miles on it. At that time, I chose to upgrade the transmission kit with a new Z3 short shifter. The original 4:10 automatic diff was retained, resulting in a more desirable ratio, geared for acceleration. All parts down to shifting knuckle were replaced with new.
While this work was being done, I took the opportunity to completely refresh the front end, including timing belt, springs, seals, valves, control arms, bushings, a new steering rack, a/c upgrade and recharge, seals and a new clutch. This BMW is also equipped with a Dinan Performance Chip, and upgraded Koni Sport Shocks, which really are the best suspension kits for grip with this vehicle. All work was performed by certified BMW auto mechanics. I can provide full documentation of the work upon request from an interested buyer.
Currently this car has Yokohama S-Drive high performance summer tires installed (including the full size spare) with about 10k miles on them, and included in the sale is a set of 4 Nokian Hakkepeliitta R2 snow tires with less than 3k miles on them.
All electric power components are functioning - windows, locks, sunroof, and electric seat warmers.
There is some slight road rash on the original BMW style 5 wheels, but it does not affect the seal. There are a few minor cracks on the dash, but far less than is to be expected from this particular car.
