1983 BMW 3-Series 320iS Description

Classic Alpine white / black E21 withgray carpet interior /ivory headliner. This is the limited production U.S. only "Sport" model with the correct vin#'s and original motor and drivetrain. Approximately 2,500 units were produced with the following upgrades from the factory: genuine Recaro sport seats, ear anti-roll bar, imited-slip differential, ross-spoke BBS lightweight wheels, larger-diameter front anti-roll bar, -spoke leather wrapped steering wheel, pecial front air dam, arger took kit. These cars are not particularly fast with their 101-hp, cyl, .8 ltr. motor, ut are known for their relatively lite weight, irect steering feel, ight clutch action, nd spirited non-aided driving experience. They go back to simpler daysof non-assisted driving, oll-up windows, nd manual crank sunroofs, hile still getting 20++mpg gas mileage. This is a rare, ust-free, -speed manual transmission, alifornia example - likely one of the nicest available for saleas many have fallen victim to rust and/or lack of care. Exterior and interior in very good condition. Paint is in very good condition throughout and appears to be mostly original, ith the exception of the front hood, hich looks like it may have had a prior re-spray?No major dents or scratches, ppropriate blemishes for age of the car. All glass in great condition. Interior upholstery has a few minor blemishes, ut nothing major. Carpets are clean with no major stains. Dash has a couple fine stress cracks, ut nothing major.

I purchased the car out of Southern CA in 2013 and have been refurbishing it since. Previous owner removed A/C and changed center console with later more ergonomic version to lighten weight further and increase performance - consequently, here is no interior fan, ut fresh air ventilation works great. Original parts included with sale. Previous owner also re-covered visors, eplaced the lower foam in drivers seat, eplaced Recaro straps in both seats for better support, eplaced exterior chrome window rubber lockstrips, nstalled new Bosch fog light lenses, nd recovered the rear deck. For total transparency, here are a few small items that need attention should the new owner choose to address. The digital clock in the gauge cluster works intermittently - probably a ground issue. The passenger seat tilt forwardis non-functional (I believe there is an internal rope that needs to be repaired).

This is a very clean, ust free, onest example. Themotor runs strong, tays cool,and the 5-speed manual transmission shiftsvery smooth throughout all five gears. The brakes are adequate with front discs and rear drums. I have taken thecar on a400+ mile trip with no issues. Selling due to an overflowing garage. The car is currently in local storage and driven periodically to keep the motor active. Clear California title in hand.
