This BMW 1988 2.5L E30 M3 in Diamantschwarz Metallic with just about 116,600 plus miles is been offered up for sale. This particular m3 came from a well love home . A 20 years plus ofownership by thepreviousowner and well taken care off . Used as a weekend fun car by him and his wif, theyseriously had amazingstories that came from owning thisamazing m3 .I soon found it incredibly hard leaving their home with theiradventure toy car . The time had come for them to say goodbye and move on . In their early 70’s i think its great for them to enjoy that beautifulFerrari they have stored away , and what a beauty it was . On the last drive he took me out for aspin anddrifted all the way back scaring me to death and stunning me with skills and mechanism of the car .He’s in his early 70’s for sure but never judge a book by its cover.
So theprevious owner did some heavy modifications to the car . Why the modification, well forstarters they tracked the car from time to time . Thisstarted as a fun and meet factor and became a way of both to enjoy somethingthey both love, driving an e30 m3 around to track, coffee and cars . So hence the modifications . The carbon fiber VIS hood for weight reduction and then the interior was removed leaving only the two front seat intact . A bolt on roll bar was fitted also for anawesomestabilazatio, which we all know what this does to the e30 m3 .
Themechanics 0f the car has received a great deal of attention , its now equipped with a 2.5 - liter S14 inline -four paired with a 5 speedmanualgearbox . Yesits a 2.5 that makes you go wowevery time . I have been an e30 m3owner since i was just about 20 years old .I’ve have the chance to own many e30 m3 and other ‘Motorsport division cars in the last 20 plusyears and well this yes this gave me a special feeling . The s14 2.3 isabsolutely great with zero modification . An earlysundaymorningdrive makes you younger at every turn. Now get inthis E30 M3 2.5 spec S14 for a drive and my- god tim, age and that amazing feeling become becomes priceless all due respect to the 2.3 for sure . If you never driven an s14 2.5 this might be one of your last chance at adecent price . A built as simple as this could set you back $15-20k easy these days ...can't wait for the comments .
The power of a stroked 2.5 s14 is just a way different feeling .Thisparticular car isequippedwith a Turner motorsport a 2.5 liter forged 11.25: 1compression 95mm kit with all new connecting ro, oil pan gaske, 2.5 crankshaft seal,lowergasket se, 2.5 head gasket and 2.5 crankshaft spacer . all done around the same time .A tuner motorsportperformance chip ( dinan) was also added . The bilstein / h&r suspension is nice and tight . No rattle or sound anywhere . Areplacement of all new tie rods assy, boot ball join, knuckl, mount, bushing and urethane trailing arm bush kit set all have beenperformed . Afront stress and rear stabilizer bars are in place . Theoil, gas,battery gauge are all working order . A new battery also installed with a proper cut offswitch . Fog lights and power mirrors are not working at this time . all other electronics are in proper working order .Majority of all the work wasperformed in late 2012 . So about 7k miles ago .
A recent service of november 2018including all new electric fa, completerearrebuilt brak, e brak, belts andoils change . A valveadjustment was alsoperformed withcompression test results of 210 alla crossed all 4 cylinders by a master s14 mechanic . No leak, rattle or issued are known. The body is pretty clean but lets all be clear this is not adiva and its not been sold or presented like one . Some ofy’all love keeping it under the cover and stored away getting a drive here or there . Well nothingwrong with that but this is just not one of those . She is a rustfree east coast car that has taken hard turn and has been well wrench by its 20 year oldplus ownership byprevious owner who built a few s14 and track this as well for weekend fun as explained with photos and a trophy to back it up .
I acquired this e30-M3 in mid 2018 with intentions of bringing it to more of abeautifuldaily driver and keeping its heart of a track beast still intact for its newfuture owner . A recent repaint of the carbon hoo, frontbumpe, new evo ii li, roof paint andmirrors. The front bumper was remove at time of repaint . No signs of any framedamage was present the frame rails and strut towers showed no signs of work ever performed. Comes with bolt on roll bar if one desires at no cos, easy installation . Familyissues have force me to sell a few toys and so this is one . A few other roller and complete cars will come up rightafter this one .
Theinterior has been upgraded with all new upholstery of rear and front seats . The front seats areoriginal recaro and rear itsoriginal bench as well both redone . Theoriginal front seats are gone . The carpet was tan and dye to a black tone color . The dash is crack-free but has a small blemish please see picture . A set of sparco foot pedals have been added and amomo steering wheel along with matching shift knob will come with sale . The Mtech 1 steering wheel has been recently redone with all new leather . The radio soundsgreat with an amplifier in the trunk for extra powe, idon’t use the radio as s14 sound is goodenough for me but anoccasionallySaturdaymorningof NPR car talk iswelcome .
The wheels are factory bmw style 5 BBS' which could use a refinish or replacement . I be happy to redone if you like at your cost butat myprice to your finish likes . The headlights are oem with yellow film easy to remove if one likes . The car hasdeleted side markets but wires are all there along with a ac delete but i do have most ac unit parts to come back to life if one desires. The car shows a total loss in 1996 before itspreviousownerand off course mysel, shows to have been a front endcollision. As a result The car does have dot frontfenders and carbon hood . Thedoors vin are intact and so it the trunk and rearbumper vins. The front bumper is a oem with a dot vin .
The car does NOT have or ever had a salvage orrebuilt title in any state . Its now been offer with a clear and ready to registerVIRGINIA title . This is a 3owner car . Previousowner bought from his neighbor and i bought it from him .Comes with bolt on roll bar and extra set of door oem cards all four and some misc parts as well . A folder of records dating back to 1993 will also beavailable . Please note gears on the odometer were’ replaced and miles are off by a few hundred .Previousowner did notrealize it stop working in its last year ofownership but only drove a fewhundredmiles in the timeframe .
