1958 BMW Isetta Description

1958 BMW Isetta 300 one door, coupe. Fan cooled, single cylinder, 4 stroke engine. 298 ccm. 7.0/1 compression. 13 HP. Meticulous, frame off, nut, bolt and screw, restoration of an original, complete, rust free car. Never a basket case. Always a complete running and driving car before restoration. Engine, transmission and rear end completely rebuilt by Bill Rogers of South Carolina, a renowned BMW Isetta drive train mechanic. Engine, transmission and rear end restoration are all on a CD disc as well as a complete parts list used in the restoration. Car was completed in 2014 and has approximately 150 miles since completion of restoration. This is a very well sorted, little Isetta. This is a very high end complete restoration with all high quality components used. Workmanship is impeccable. There is a complete three ring binder full of receipts as well as an original service manual. Chrome and bright work are all new. Exceptionally nice paint with a laser straight body. All new windows, window felt, rubber door seals, compliment the level of restoration of this little car. Perfect fit and finish throughout. Car has always been kept in a heated climate controlled environment and since restoration was completed has been owned by a non smoker. All new interior including seat, side cards, door card, carpet, rear package shelf and sun roof. Car runs and drives flawlessly. This is a very happy car at around 40-45mph. Top speed is 55mph. Gas tank is three gallons and the car gets about 60 miles to a gallon of gas. I have been using leaded race fuel in the car only because of the little bit of fuel it consumes, I do not want the fuel to go bad. Car comes with a spare tire. Keep in mind if you have never driven one of these cars before, they take a few minutes to learn how to drive. The four speed transmission is shifted with your left hand and the shift pattern, although is an H type pattern, is backwards from a conventional, late model 4 speed. Keep in mine these little transmissions are not fully synchronized and although it shifts very well, you do have to learn how to shift one if you are not familiar. If you have seriously been looking at these cars, this one is one of the best you will ever find or have the opportunity to purchase. Car needs absolutely nothing. There is nothing left to do but enjoy it. A smaller custom steering wheel is on the car at this time so a larger person can drive the car, as I am 6 foot and 275 pounds. Original steering wheel does come with the car and has been restored but not painted. Special note: On the rear of the car I have mounted a working wind up key that spins like a wind up toy when you drive the car. It is battery operated with a specially designed bracket coming off the rear license plate assembly. No holes were put in the sheet metal to add this item. The little car is a show stopper and you have to allow extra time when driving it as it draws a crowd every time it is on the street. Has won best of show numerous times in it's class at our local car shows. Odometer mileage on the title reads "exempt" because the car is more than 10 years old. Clear title awaits the new owner. Car is sold as is without warranty expressed or implied, Pre bid inspection of the car is always encouraged. Please keep in mind you are bidding to own the car and all sales are final. A $500 Pay Pal, Non Refundable deposit, is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. I only accept wire transfer of balance of funds. No personal checks, no cashiers checks. bid with confidence as my Ebay score speaks for itself. Bidders with excessive negative and/or little or no history, will need to contact me prior to bidding.
