1992 BMW M5 Description

As much as it pains me, ilvia is up for sale. 204K miles on original Engine. At 141K I converted her to a Six Speed, s the title indicates, es she is a 3.6 with the 6-Speed transmission and corresponding 3.23 differential. I built her when I first bought her. The original 5 Speed transmission is included in the sale along with all f the accessories pictured that I have used over the years to maintain her. She has been such a joy. Such such a joy. She is eared for over 200mph and she gets 36+mph on the highway. I wanted to turbo charge her if I keep her (she does not sell), hat is the only thing left to do with this car as everything else has been done. The list of options/enhancements is long so here it goes, lease see the photos as well. She is truly one of a kind and you will not see anything like her. In teh 11 years I have had her the only time she did not bring me home was when the water pump went out on the highway....ONCE in 11 years...what a car.

Interior should be a 10 but the door panels have the raising issue and they are new ones from the dealer that did not last 2 years before they showed signs of lifting. Upholstery was replaced front and rear in similar material and looks like the pics.
I have over the years through meticulous maintenance and spared no expense to address all of the common ailments of the five series of the time (front end vibration issues at varying ride hides and suspension bushing choices/control arm choices). She is nimble as a dream around any turn at most speeds, ides on rails with light turn in due to the floating front rotors that stop on a dime just flat, nd turns flat with the RD strut brace...but I am getting ahead of myself....on with the detail list.
Maintenance / Parts replaces int 11 years of ownership ~60K miles (have all dealer receipts for ALL parts over 11 years):
  • Mass Air Flow Sensor Replace (Original was causing no Start intermittently
  • All Temp Sensors
  • New 6 Speed Transmission from Turner Motorsports - now has 60K miles on, have actually never driven this car as a 5 speed, y brother delivered it and it was in my garage until I finished the conversion. I have every picture of the car even the ones my brother sent me to convince me to buy it. Winner (if there is one) will see what she looked like when I got her at 141K (I know the previous owner and he purchased from the original owner). I also have photos of much of her life with me as well
  • New 3.23 Rear differential - now with 60K miles on as well
  • Engine Ground Strap
  • Instrument Cluster Polished Metal Gauge Rings
  • Illuminated 6 Speed M Shift Knob
  • Valve Cover Redone with a high temp durable finish
  • Headline
  • Sunroof Headliner
  • Rear Window Shelf (from BMW and it rippled in less than 2 years)
  • New Front Windshield and Seal
  • New Rear Window Seal
  • New Door Seals all 4
  • New Trunk Seal
  • New Hood Liner
  • Front Wheel Bearings
  • 2 Clutches in 60K miles, urrent has <8K
  • Light weight Flywheel - this car has 2 brakes, ne in the middle and one on the right! This car has fantastic, un engine breaking!
Exhaust:
  • Super Sprint rear section that does not even have 1K miles on.

Headlights:
  • Xenon Headlights (lows) and Fog Lights. I also have an extra new set of ballasts and bulbs included.

Suspension:
  • Koni Adjustable Shocks all four wheels
  • Racing Dynamics Front and Read Sway Bars
  • All Wheel Bearing replaced in last 30,000
  • 750iL Spherical Lower Control Arms - No shimmy at any Speeds
  • Rear Cross Member - replaced (Causes Shimmy when mounting holes get worn)
  • HR Springs
  • All Strut mounts new within last 20k miles
  • Racing Dynamics Strut Brace ( Edit: It had one on when I bought the car but I forgot here on E bay years ago I bought a unit that fit the strut towers better as they were machined to the contours of the top of the tower where as the RD strut bar had flat Aluminum mounting ring that just 'press formed' to the tops of the tower, s they are not flat, nd deformed over time. You can see from the pics the nice flush cut-outs that this bar has.)
Wheels:
  • 4xBreyton Magic 18" Staggered
  • 3xBreyton Magic Racing 18" Staggered - Have been searching for one more - these look fantastic with no curb rash.
Brakes:
  • Brembo 332mm Floating Cross Drilled Rotors Front (GT) and Stock Rear with Brembo Cross Drilled Rotors.
Stereo:
  • JVC KD-AVX77
Special Tools:
  • 6 Tube vacuum gauge for balancing the throttle bodies (6) I used for adjusting the TBs
Parts:
  • I have new Rear Sub Frame Bushings + the Sir Tools special tool for installation for this car but she does not need them now but they will be of no use to me if she sells so they are included as well.
I am sure there is more, have 11 years of recents for everything I did to her. Why am I selling? Truth of the matter is I do not want to, f my situation changes and she does not sell I am going to keep her where she is and turbo charge her which is the only thing more that could be done to this car ( 750+ HP). I have the V-10 and a 550 plus a 968 turbo Porsche I'm tuning now that I built so she has just sat in the garage and I have maybe put 3K miles on her in the last 4 years and do not think I am ready to start another turbo project.
I need her to sell to a true enthusiast, good home, he loves every section of her power band all the way to red line as long as she is allowed to warm up to normal oil operating temp from a cold start. She has never seen over 3500 RPM until oil is up to temperature. That's just the way I drive. As a result I can wind her up anytime there after with no hesitation).
Though I need her to sell, hope she does not. :( sniff sniff
Please do not bid if you are not serious. I reserve the right to cancel any suspect bid, ancel the auction as well if car sells locally.
