1971 Buick Gran Sport Description
Thanks for looking at my listing. I am selling my 1971 Buick GS350. It is a true GS as you can see from the VIN but it is a GSX tribute. I purchased the car pretty much as it is today 6 years ago. I put new tires on it, changed the fluids and installed a retro stereo in it and that's it. I'm selling it because I just don't have the time to enjoy it with the responsibilities of a young family. I bought it with 86402 miles and it currently has 88478. I've averaged 295 miles a year. Sad, I know. I have many more photos available if you need but Ebay only allows 24 in the listing. I can email the other 120 photos upon request.
The car is in excellent shape and hopefully the pictures speak for themselves. It is not a trailered show car queen but is an extremely presentable vehicle. It's a factory AC, bench seat, column shift car. Believe it or not I looked specifically for a bench seat car as opposed to buckets (seems like they made a lot less) as I thought it would be cool to have my son sit right next to me in the front when he got older.
The car is super solid and runs and drives excellent. Not the loudest or fastest car around but is a blast to cruise around in. I do no know if it is a numbers matching drivetrain as I have never searched out the casting numbers on the engine and trans, etc. The interior is in excellent overall condition except where the headliner is a little loose above the rear passenger seat (see the pic). The factory AC wasn't working when I bought that car but I have all the components for it. The compressor spins freely. I originally wanted to fix it but kept putting it off as I like to drive with the windows down anyway. I removed the underhood AC components and stored them in the garage. The factory gas gauge is intermittent so I always just noted the mileage at fill up and would fill back up around 200 miles traveled. The hood tach hasn't worked since I bought it and I've never investigated as to why. It is however hooked up and just needs some troubleshooting. The gentleman I bought it from said that he thought it wasn't vented properly when he had it installed as it condensated up the glass in the tach and that it stopped working. It still looks super cool tho, lol. The trunk and floors are solid and don't have any give or soft spots. The carpet, seats, dash are in great shape. I had a retro stereo installed when I bought the car, it looks like the original but has modern technology. There is an AUX wire in the glovebox so that you can hook up a device to play music. The added gauges work, (Temp & Oil) but the Amp one isn't hooked up. The gentleman I bought the car from in 2010 had 2 of them and sold one before I bought this one and he gave me many extra parts that I'll send along with the car. They are not needed but he gave them to me and I'll include them. I have full floor pans, 2 extra dash pads, a full dash with new woodgrain applique, factory dash clock and all the AC components. The car has been great to me and I'm sure it will be to you also. I know I'm going to regret selling it as soon as I do. I've tried to think of everything to list but I'm sure I missed something. Please feel free to ask questions, I'll do my best to answer ASAP.
The vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
