1938 Buick Special business coupe 90% restored Needs very little to finish
1938 Buick Special Coupe Special Description
I own a restoration shop and this is a car I am selling for a customer. It is a nearly finished 1938 Buick Special Business Coupe.
Here is what's been done;
The car was taken apart years ago and had a very nice re-paint done in black. All the edges and jams and undersides of hood and trunk lid. All the glass and rubbers are new and installed. Thewood graining redone and all the chrome re-plated. The seat, headliner and door panels were done at the same time. Everything that was done was done very well and to a high standard and looks great.
Here is what it needs to finish;
As seen in the photos, the flooring needs a new rubber mat or carpeting. A little bit more work on the interior is needed as the rear area is 95% done. All the front is done. The running boards need recovering (new rubbers) and the brakes need to be done. The engine compartment is not detailed and there are a couple ofpartsmissing that the owner is trying to find in his garage where the car came from after sitting for years. Missing are the three inside handles for the passenger door, one rear bumper guard, the two ashtrays and the cigarette lighter.
The engine runs perfectly and the clutch real smooth. The transmission shifts fine. Steering is good. No noises anywhere. As said, the brakes need to be done and that's about it mechanically.
To sum it up, just a little bit more to finish this car. There are somechips in the paint that need touching up but no dings at all. Super straight body and very tight. Also, I have both side mount spare fenders and all the hardware to mount them and all the tire cover pieces and trim for an additional $500.00 they can go with the car.
