1950 Buick Roadmaster Base Coupe 2-Door 5.2L
1950 Buick Roadmaster Roadmaster Description
This is a 1950 Buick Roadmaster that was purchased here in Idaho in 1996; bone stock with 22K miles. The 2nd owner waited a year for the paint to be done. There was no rust just minor dings from use. The 2nd owner wanted the paint done right without the use of filler/bondo. He got what he wanted and paid for it. The car's windows were all replaced with tinted side glass, the old school kind of double glass with tint in-between. The car was air bagged all the way around at a local hot rod shop; for that mean street look. The interior was done in a mauve to blend well with exterior colors. The side pipes can be used if you want that 50's sound... that too was done here in Idaho. The electrical system was converted to 12 volt, by the rod shop as well. You'll find a wounder bar radio but the tunes now come from a cd/ radio in the glove box. This car was completed in 1998 with the chameleon 4 color paint. The body was first painted black with purple pearl over it. Then the chameleon flames... this paint was very expensive back in 1998 ($253.00 a pint). From the stack of papers that came with the car... I added up over 10K in paint work alone on a 22,000 mile car. The car has been sitting in the corner of the shop until I found her. The hood is off because the radiator had a minor leak on the side. I had it fixed and replaced. When the weather gets better I'll pull her out and take better pics. The dust is stock from 1998 until now. The 2nd owner drove it less then 1000 miles before parking her in the corner and doing the next project.
