1963 Buick Special Convertible Description | Year | 1963 | Make | Buick | Model | Special Convertible | S/N | 0J2510005 | Mileage | 98,112 | Exterior | Desert Sand | Interior | Dark Desert Sand | Engine | 215 c.i. V8 | Trans. | Automatic, Two Speed | Here's a rare find: This 1963 Buick Special Convertible runs, drives and looks great. This is a very original car that's ready to drive and enjoy now (and low production means you won't see yourself coming and going at shows). Most components have been rebuilt or replaced over the years, and a large stack of receipts comes with the car as evidence. History: This car spent most of its life in California and Arizona before arriving in North Carolina in the 1990's. It had been owned by the same family since the 1980's until I recently acquired it. Please read through my description and look at all of the photos. Call me if you have any questions. No dents or dings. Very, very nice - but not perfect. There are a couple of small paint defects on the hood. The chrome on the car all looks fantastic. The top itself is in great condition with a clear rear window. This is a manual top that will always work (power tops were an option). The top boot is original to the car. The door panels, seats and visors were all redone in 1995 and they still look fantastic. The dash has been restored. All gauges and lights work great. The original AM radio is in the car, but it is NOT working. The trunk was restored just a few weeks ago. Weather stripping was replaced, and there is a new original-style mat. The trunk was repainted where needed. The original spare wheel, jack and lug wrench are still with the car. BOTH original service manuals are with the car, body and chassis. The detailed engine compartment looks great. This 155 hp 215ci V8 was rebuilt in December of 2010 at a cost of $3000 (receipts included). The car has only a few hundred miles on it since then. The 2 speed automatic transmission was rebuilt in July of 2004 at a cost of $900 (receipts included). The brakes were just done a few weeks ago. Rebuilt master cylinder, new wheel cylinders, new front brake lines. If you are in South Florida, you are invited to inspect and test drive this vehicle (if you're elsewhere, please send a friend or associate). This car will sell itself if you do.
