I am selling my 1987 all original GN with T-Tops and digital dash. This is not a clone, it is a real Grand National with no modifications (just scanmaster) and it is still fast!! Original turbo, motor, interior. If you know Grand Nationals, I don't have to put all of the details about the GN history in this listing as you probably already know it was the fastest production car in the 80s and was so ahead of its time. It is truly a beautiful and rare car and will always be a true collector car that holds it value and gets looks everywhere I go. Gets so many looks when I drive because it is all original and has T-tops and digital dash. I am located in Georgia.
The Details:
Car is all original and in good condition, mechanically sound, super maintained, just needs painted. You can easily make it into a show car with paint. It is still a really nice car even though it needs painted.
Car shifts perfectly smooth and is still fast even all original.
T_tops do not leak, but I have not had it in any rain as the car is ALWAYS garage kept and never in the rain.
Only replaced rear bumper fill with a beautiful "spool fool" bumper fill. It is normal for bumper fills to go bad on grand nationals so I replaced it. Have receipt for this.
Original radio, turbo, wheels, everything. Interior is in really great condition. It is original paint and will need repainted to make it a show car. Last owner had it garaged for 3 years and sold it to me.
T- Top bags, spare tire and cover.
All lights work. There are the "spider" lines in the rear lenses and you can get them restored if it bothers you. It does not take away from the car at all.
History since 1987:
There were several owners of the car while it was in the state of Florida from 1987 to 2013, but it was still maintained well . Car was bought brand new in 1987 and had rear bumper damage in 1992, nothing major at all! The car currently has 75,400 miles on it and there are several mistakes on the AutoCheck report. January 28, 1994, the state of Florida had the car at 151,000 which is incorrect info. and 5 days later (02/02/1994), had the car at 15,000 miles which is correct info. In 1997 there was 28,000 miles on it and in 1999, it had 38,000 which is all correct. If you view the AutoCheck report, you will see there are several discrepancies with this mileage. If you look at the report closely, you will see that the current mileage of 75,400 makes sense and is correct. The car is clear in every other area on report. The condition of the car reflects the correct and current mileage of 75,400. You are more than welcome to do an inspection of the car anytime before bidding. I am confident in the accuracy of mileage and care of this car or I would not have purchased the car in the first place. You will see that the car is in great condition mechanically, interior, exterior, just needs painted.
I bought the car in 2016 from my friend in Georgia who has owned it since 2013. He rarely drove the car and it was impeccably maintained and garage kept. I have done the same and am only selling the car because of needing the money for personal reasons/home or I would not sale the car as it has been my dream car since graduating high school in 1987. With a paint job, this will truly make a car show worthy Grand National.
What I have done/repaired(have all receipts for everything):
Brand New AC Compressor Installed 9/16.
Rear Bumper Fill(Spoolfool) Just installed 5/17
Alt. Pigtail/Rewired.
Was a small oil leak when I purchased and that has been fixed. Valve cover gaskets.
NEEDS:
Painted. Car is clean and has has minor dents and dings(nothing major, just surface stuff). You can’t see it from far away until you get up on the car. You can drive this car to a car show and people will look at it and compliment it, you just won;t win the show. It is still a clean car even though it will need painted.
VERY small tear on side of passenger seat near bottom. I have material to repair it and plan on getting it repaired. It is not noticeable unless you are shown.
Sometimes the antenna will get stuck and sometimes it will come the whole way up, but radio still works.
