1927 Buick Roadster Description

1927 Buick Roadster

Complete frame off restoration. This Buick was bought brand new in Los Angeles by a lady who drove the car from 1927 to 1941. The car was placed into storage because of WWII where it remained for the next 20 years. In 1961, she decided to sell the car by placing a two-line ad in the L.A. Times (see picture of original ad). The second owner spent the next 19 years restoring it. In 1981 it won the AACA Chocolate Town Trophy in Hershey PA, which was awarded to the finest Western Division senior car entered into the Annual Fall Meet. It has since been the recipient of numerous other 1st Place awards (Please see list below.) The impeccable restoration and care this car received throughout its life continues to show to this day.

This car has been completely serviced. In the last year, the body was given a complete high-dollar professional paint job and received a new convertible top and boot. We recently installed four brand new wide white wall tires. It starts immediately and goes down the road excellently with no hesitations, whines, or wiggles. The only problem I noticed with the whole car is a built-in problem because it has a multiple clutch disk system which tends to be a little jumpy in first gear. Also the vacuum tank that disperses the fuel has been bypassed with an electric fuel pump and a pressure gauge, which works excellent. The car has great oil pressure, no overheating problems, and no braking problems. All side curtains are present. The removable leather pieces on the door were added to protect the paint from wear. The original style rubber floor mat is underneath the carpeting. And the retractable cigar lighter pulls from the dash and recoils back in.

Includes original owner’s manual, ad clipping from the LA Times when it was sold in 1961, pictures of the first three owners, and other documents.
