1987 Buick Grand National Base Coupe 2-Door Description

A 1987 Buick Grand National is already the kind of classic that makes you weak in the knees. But then we can add the best identifiers like "survivor-grade", "barn-find", and "expertly resurrected". So read all the details, because this loaded and ready black stallion has a story to tell.
It's believed this car went into hibernation in 1997. It was parked in a commercial warehouse for two decades, and while it was found complete, no Grand National lover would just hop in and turn the key after 20 years of waiting. Instead, this was sent to Richard Clark's garage (he's known as the Grand National guru) in Burlington, NC. There they did everything you would want to get this coupe back on the road without jeopardizing its originality. That means investments in carefully resurrecting this Buick legend. Special attention was paid to preserve and restore original components wherever possible. For example, this wears modern rubber on the polished factory wheels (because no tire can last 30 years and still be effective,) but the original Goodyear Eagle GT tires come with the sale. Everything was cleaned from the injectors to the tank. Even the air conditioner was recharged with the correct R12 yes, they truly went the extra mile! That's how you get a GN that looks this amazing and has such a low odometer. And more than just a survivor, this one has everything you love about a Grand National. It retains all the best elements that keep it looking sinister on the streets like the power bulge hood, integrated rear spoiler, and the factory-applied famous black paint that consumes the whole body to give this coupe a midnight-level of intimidation.
The interior received the right attention to make sure it is as clean and well preserved as the exterior. The original black and gray bucket seats up front do a terrific job of balancing out the comfortable image of a Buick with extra bolstering for the Grand National's added performance. Also as a true high-end Buick, this comes loaded with all the best features. It includes a power driver's seat, power windows, power locks, cruise control, power steering, and the rare optional AM/FM/cassette stereo w/equalizer. And because this car was given a thorough resurrection, all are in perfect working order. Remember, the A/C system is remaining original and recharged, so it will be the coldest system you've felt in years! But what's most important is the feeling you get when you slip behind the three-spoke steering wheel. It's designed to give you a clear view of the original instrument package. And we just love how Buick retained the Regal's large horizontal speedometer, but also gave the GN its own tach and boost gauge right in the display.
Under the hood is what truly makes this car a legend. The 3.8-liter turbocharged V6 was a large focus at Richard Clark's Garage to make sure this factory original powerplant would always perform at its best. In fact, after the engine was serviced, and it was cleared for road duty again, there was an extender chip added. After all, when at Richard Clark's, you should let the guru give this one better power for the streets. Plus, this features like front disc brakes, sway bars front & rear, and a limited slip rear end make sure this handles like a proper turbocharged sports machine should. But remember, the four-speed automatic transmission is not only there for quick shifting action but also for overdrive comfort. So you'll get just as much pleasure out of this one chewing up the asphalt as you will cruising under the midnight neon.
The sale comes with all the right paperwork, including the original window sticker, dealer invoice, original bill of sale, original warranty card, owner's manual, and maintenance records. This is a true legend with a story to tell. And because all the right investments were made in preservation/resurrection, you can take it everywhere to tell the tale. An opportunity as something this interesting and powerful is rarely this obtainable. Don't miss out, call today!
