1984 Grand National-3.8-SFI-Turbo
See Upgrades Below, Slick Car
Description– This is a very slick car, paint is a 9.5. This is the first year of the Grand Nationals, and this is the only year with the Leather/Cloth interior.
CHANGES: It has the 1987 Grand National engine and transmission with 35K miles, the total car has been refurbished. I mean, taken apart for paint by professional body shop (have pictures) and it is SLICK. It is amazing paint as you can see. Interior isA 9 out of 10 and paint is, I say a 9.5. I know these are getting hard to find, but especially in this condition with the upgrades. It has the black-out look when it was redone, looks very good. Wanting to sale, to buy a pre-72 model car, I like older cars. This car is fun and fast, and yes, it draws alot of attention, not your car you see every day.
ENGINE: 3.8 SFI-Turbo Intercooled out of a 1987 Grand National with a matching transmission that had 35K miles, has some upgrades, see below. But still can be driven where ever and whenever.
Little bigger cam, kind of mild
Bigger turbo & factory 87 GN intercooler
55 lb. Injectors and Tuned by Professional shop
Bigger radiator changed to a Griffin Radiator
Aluminum Rear Diff. cover
BODY/EXTERIOR: -
Super slick paint, and near perfect.
Almost new BR Goodrich tires with perfect factory wheels, including spare in trunk
Added 4 piston calipers
T-Top option with T-top shades
Added the tinted tail lights, marker and parking lights, gives it the black-out look
Installed new tinted windshield when it was getting paint.
The car was painted in 2016, I have pictures before it was painted, nothing at all wrong, just paint was faded a little. But it was all taking apart and done right. Pictures when it was taken apart
Very nice, you can see from the pictures.
Added the gauge pods on the pillar, and has an oil and water temp gauge in the console area, instead of the dash dummy lights.
Everything works on the car.
Only 200 of the 1984 Grand Nationals were produced with the T-Top option and digital dash, which makes these the rarest of the Grand Nationals, And for this year ONLY had the Lear Siegler leather/cloth interior which was only produced in 1984, others years were cloth only.
Only 5,204 Turbo Regals were produced in 1984, only 2,000 of which were Grand Nationals.- PLEASE do your research, these was a limited production for collector later.
I know the prices for these cars are all over the place, depends on, year, miles, condition etc.. But they are collector cars now, and this is a nice slick one to be.
I have 2 Chilton GM shop manuals and about 5” stack of paperwork, receipts on the car.
This is a very slick car, and is ready to drive. ONLY reason I am selling is to get an older car, other than that, I should probably keep this car, cause they are getting hard to find (esp. in this shape).
