1965 Buick Skylark Convertible - Sport Description

Time capsule, highly original Skylark ragtop. Working power windows, top, tilt wheel, original radio, seats, seat covers steering wheel, dash (no cracks), top, rare center console, seatbelts, tires last changed in 1977 (still hold air and drive fine). Cool keystone wire wheels (chrome is flaking), mudflaps and an original dealer installed bug deflector. Runs and drives like a top, only engine modification is a switch to Pertronix from points for reliability. New battery. This car is just plain cool, engine and bay completely original and everything inside and outside (lights, signals, brakes, etc) works as designed. All brightwork is there, chrome is great - some pitting on back bumpers but grille, etc is clean. Original color was gold, my friend's dad repainted red in the 70s. The carpet is red but original gold replacement is $175 bucks and easy to replace. I have the original seat belts, the top is black and keeps you dry but there is a bad patch on one side. Original zip out plastic rear window still in place. Beautiful original seats with a couple of obligatory cigarette burns. The dashboard is crack free, all the bright work is in place and the power top works perfect. Paint is good 70s lacquer but not defectfree, scrapes and scratches from use (no dents) but it displays well and turns heads. There are a couple of bubbles here and there and I'm happy tosend pics ofany defects to interested parties. The frame and underneath is very clean (as trunk pics show),newer exhaust system and I would encourage anyone who's interested to inspect or contact me for further information. We've recently bypassed the heater core (new one in trunk included with sale). The fans and defrost motors work well as do all interior switches (horn doesn't work). We've put several thousand, defect free miles on the car, you can drive it with confidence. Fantasticcar for the money and something you can enjoy with your family for many years to come. You can always buy a trailer queen, but rare, original examples of 60's convertibles are getting harder and harder to find. Car is for sale locally and we may end early if sells. All questions welcome. Thanks for your interest. Chuck
