I have received a few questions about the vehicle condition, reasons I am selling it, etc. so please see this update explaining the vehicle history and detailed information.
The title is clear, and in my name - My grandfather left the vehicle to me when he passed in 1999.
There is no existing vehicle warranty, the vehicle is 32 years old, no warranty will cover that - lol. I selected, "no existing warranty" when I listed it through eBay, but for some reason it shows above as a warranty included (in the description above). There is no vehicle warranty included.
I have replaced the cloth interior headliner (new headliner is pictured), as anyone who has seen older vehicles knows, over time the headliner breaks down over time, and starts sagging from the ceiling -- so I replaced it in May 2018.
I replaced the heater core (the piece that makes interior heat by using the engine coolant), that leaked about a year ago (very common problem with 70's and 80's vehicles), so I replaced it to get the vehicle heat to work.
New spark plug and radiator flush in May 2018 (this has been done every 3 years since the car was new, regardless of miles driven - my grandfather thought these were good preventative maintenance item to keep track of, so I kept doing them in his honor).
New synthetic oil in May 2018 (Mobil 1), which was also changed every Spring (after about 300 vehicle miles driven annually).
I replaced both of the hood prop-ups in May 2018 (the things that hold open the hood) after many years, they lose tension and wont support the weight of the hood anymore -- so I replaced instead of using a stick to hold open the hood.
There are no engine codes or service lights, I can send a video of the code read if you are interested.
The 12 Volt battery was replaced in 2017.
The Air conditioner does not blow cold -- it worked perfectly fine when I parked it over the winter a few years ago, and didn't work when I got it out that spring. I assume it just needs to be charged, and that there is nothing "wrong" with it -- I have just never taken it to be done, since we rarely drive it and never used the air anyway (a older car should be taken on a Sunday cruise with the windows down!) -- I may get it charged before selling it, just to ensure there is nothing wrong, and no leaks -- but again, I assume it is just in need of a charge after 32 years.
Everything else is original -- All engine parts, exhaust system, tires, brakes, belts, radiator hoses and lines, etc. The vehicle runs very well -- but the tires are finally showing some light signs of dry rot on the sidewalls (32 year old tires), there is still a ton of tread and holds air (no air has been added for at least 5 years, and still at 35 lbs.) -- they are fine for cruising around town, but if you plan on taking a long trip in the car, you will probably want to consider replacing them. The same for all the radiator hoses, brakes, etc -- there is no sign of wear at all on the hoses or belts, etc. -- and I've never even had a breakdown -- but if you plan on taking it for a very long road trip, you should have your mechanic inspect the hoses, breaks, wheel bearings, and belts, just because they are so old. Honestly, even the wiper blades are original -- I am sure they are dry-rotted, but I wouldn't know -- the vehicle has never been in the rain, at least since I have had it 19 years ago :)
I only drive the vehicle about 200-300 miles per year, taking the kids out for a Sunday drive, to work to show off to my buddies, or up to the Dairy Queen in town with the kids -- it runs great and has been very well maintained.
The vehicle has a white rag top -- there are no cracks, stains or defects in it at all, it has never been left in the sun and is not dried out like you see of older ones -- it is still very soft, padded and springy, as this vehicle has always been stored in a dry garage.
There are no cuts, burns or imperfections on the seats at all -- they look like they did from the factory. Rear carpet is spotless. Passenger front carpet is spotless. Driver front carpet has very minimal stains (which you can clearly see in the picture) -- even that is much cleaner and more perfect than my 2017 vehicle, but I am just pointing it out -- you can see from the picture is it very clean (even the drivers side front), so I am just being picky.
There is no rust on the body at all, or in the door jams, or in the trunk lid, or in the hood lid. There are no deep scratches -- but 2 or 3 very light scratches that don't even penetrate through the clear coat which I am sure would buff out -- but you will have to look very hard to find them, the vehicle inside and out is truly immaculate. If you are interested, I will take a walk-around, slow video to show you the body up close and in detail.
My grandfather bought this Regal new in 1986, as a designated vehicle to take from Michigan to Kentucky twice a year on vacation -- he had a pickup truck that was his daily driver. He left it to me when he passed away in 2009 and I have had it since then. He put 16,000 miles on it from 1986 to 1999 -- and I have put about 4,000 miles on it since (over 18 years).
I have downgraded to a 2-car garage, and the wife is just sick of me taking up the garage spot -- with the little amount of time I spend driving it, it is just time to move on. I hope she finds a great home, with someone who will baby her and take the care of her I have all these years.
