1966 Buick Skylark Description

1966 Buick SkyLark

Up for Sale is my 1966 Buick Skylark. I hate to sell it but I have to right now.. I will describe what I have done to it and what has to be redone and what may need to be done (Your Choice). I am going to be honest with everything I will state about my car.

While this car has some minor issue items described below it has a great older restoration that help up very well (8 year old Resto). It is a 2 footer. Even the Engine compartment has been detailed and painted (Firewall). The car starts right up every time and can be driven. Sounds great.. I have priced the car at an aggressive pric, it reflects the work that needs attention. This is definitely a 9-10k car or more at Classic Car Dealers. You don't see many of these Skylarks around anymore, while you see Chevelles all over the place. Every time people see it, I can tell you from experience it gets a lot of attention and conversation from people remembering when they had one, that is the best part..

I'm not gonna tell you my woes but the only reason the Issues list is what it is is because of unscrupulous Mechanics. not doing what I paid for and leaving car outside when it was supposed to be inside all the time not just at night. I am not selling for any reason other than I need the money right now and have to let the toy go.I will miss it a great deal and am looking for a good home for it.. This is a great Father/Son car it looks great but they can still make it their own with upgrades and changes..

What has been done since I bought it 6 years ago.. (The Good)

  • Hotchkis Front Sway Bar 1.375 in
  • Hotchkis Rear Sway Bar 1.0 in
  • Hotchkis Front Springs - 1.0 in Drop
  • KYB Shocks Front/Rear
  • Aluminum Radiator
  • Electronic Radiator Fan
  • Transmission Cooler
  • Power front Brakes - Disc (was originally all Drum)
  • Voltage/Oil/Temp Gauge Pod
  • Petronix Electronic Ignition
  • New American Racing 17' Wheels.
  • New 235/17" front Tires - New 255/17" Rear Tires
  • Front Spoiler under Bumper (looks Great)
  • This is what needs to be redone/Done - because of Crappy install and because of age of Vehicle. (The Not so Good)

  • Disc Brake system. I was told the one I bought was top notch but it was a basic system that has a Booster issue. you can drive the car but when you step on brakes feels like a brick and stops very slowly.
  • Paint Bubble just above the Rear quarter window. This is because the Mechanic (JM PERFORMANCE in NY) left my car outside when I was having work done when I told them not to and water got behind the Paint from a small opening. Will not affect performance in any way just annoying when people don't respect our stuff.
  • Crack in Dash. There was a small crack but again because of mechanics not respecting your stuff the Sun cracked it more do to being outside in Summer.
  • Interior Seats. While the seats always needed replacing do to age they got a little worse over the last year again, from same Mechanic leaving car in Sun. Seats Cracked and became Sun Stained.
  • Please email me with any questions or if you're local for a time to come see it. I am selling local and will end Auction Early if I sell it locally. If I do not get the Deposit with in 24 Hours you forfeit the ability to purchase the car and I go to the next buyer in line..
