1965 Buick Riviera Description

I am relisting this car because the winning bidder was not a serious buyer in any way. No more games please. A $500.00 deposit via PayPal must be made by the winning bidder within 24 hours after the auction closes. The winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours after the auction closes to make arrangements for payment of the balance. The starting bid is $6,000.00 and that represents the reserve on this car. After that, there is no reserve.
This 1965 Buick Riviera has been chopped 4", lowered using lowering springs from OPG, and the door handles have been shaved and wing vents removed. The stock 401 Nailhead and Turbine automatic transmission run strong. They have not been modified, but you have to TRY NOT to do burnouts! If you are not familiar with the legendary 401 Buick Nailhead, I encourage you to do some research. It is one bad ass motor! This Riviera is more of a rat rod show car than a "perfection" show car. It is not a "concourse de elegance" candidate, but I have taken it to car club shows etc and everyone seems to love it. This car is just plain outlaw cool and runs very strong. I hate to sell it, but I need to raise some cash.I have owned this Riviera for 5 years. I hate rust more than I can tell you. Since day 1 there have been one or two very small and very minor rust (bubbles) under the paint on the rear fender edges above the wheels. They have not gotten any worse since day 1. I have not been concerned about them, and please believe me, I absolutely hate rust. At some time before I owned the car, someone welded steel plates into the front floorpans to repair rust. There is some minor surface rust in the trunk which you can see in the pictures. Otherwise - the car is amazingly rust free. I have always kept this car in a climate controlled garage and it hasn't been out in the rain since i have owned it.
Because this car has been chopped, it has no side windows. It is a "fair weather" car and needs to be garaged.
I don't know how many miles are on the engine etc. The odometer reads 8,641, but that certainly can't be right. I don't know if the engine or transmission have ever been rebuilt, but both run very strong.
I bought this Riviera already chopped from a collector who bought it from a large auction lot. He didn't have any information about the car that he could pass on to me, so I really don't know much about it's history.
I have installed over $3,500 of new parts including:
New springs, isolators and retainersNew shocksNew shock and swaybar linksNew brakesNew batteryNew custom exhaustNew Pinion sealNew front wheel bearingsNew 16 gallon fuel cellProfessionally rebuilt drive shaft and center link
Known issues:NOT working - a/c, horn, windshield wipers, right front turn signal, radio, clockNO seat beltsNO headlight clam shells motor. Everything is there except the motor so you can still open or close them manually (I like them open anyway)The speedometer runs approx 10 mph under true mphTires are in only fair condition (tread is good, but there are some minor sidewall cracks)Paint is maybe a 6 out of 10. 10 being "perfect" show quality.
If you are a serious buyer, I encourage you to come see and drive this wild Buick.
