1923 Buick 23-6-45 Description
1923 Buick Series 23 - Phaeton
This Buick was purchased locally in Northern Illinois around 1979 by my grandfather who restored it. Overall the car is in good condition, has been stored inside a heated garage, and primarily driven at local antique car shows and parades. The interior has two black leather bench seats with no seat belts, wooden steering wheel, and black carpeting in the rear. The engine is a 242 cubic inch straight 6 putting out ~27 HP. The engine is in good condition, with plenty of power, and does not smoke. The amp meter, oil pressure and speedometer work. Rear turn signals were added and can be controlled by the Flash-All unit on the steering column. Recent work done this year includes: new electric fuel pump, all the fluids changed, and a new radiator core.
The transmission is a 3-speed, with reverse. This Buick has front and rear leaf spring suspension with only rear brakes which work well.Overall the car runs and drives well. On the exterior the canvas top is in excellent condition and shows well inside and out. The exterior maroon and black was professionally painted and is free of any major scraps or dents. This is a great looking car and gets a lot of attention everywhere it goes.
Overall this Buick is, Good - Very Good condition, and is a lot of fun to drive around on a nice day.Available for inspection in South Elgin, IL 60177
