1964 Buick Riviera Barn Find - very solid and straight.
1964 Buick Riviera Description
1964 Buick Riviera. I purchased this car from the second owner after it sat in dry garage for almost 30 years (I have the pics and paperwork from the late 80s). The previous owner removed all the fuel and prepared it for a long storage. After changing the fluids and adding gas it started right up and runs very well. Other than changing the fluids, cleaning it up a bit and fixing a few little things I have not touched it. It does run, drive and stop but the mufflers and tail pipes have been removed and the bias ply tires are shot (they all hold air). I have video of it running and driving. According to the family the transmission was replaced with a three speed automatic and the transmission shifts excellent. I have the ignition key but I do not have a key for the doors and the trunk. Many of the electrical components work but several need additional tinkering. The blower fan and blinkers don’t work at the moment. Power seats and windows function. The blue paint has been on it since they purchased the car but it appears there was some work around the tail lights at some point in time. The bumpers and stainless are nice but some of the cast trim is pitted. The rest of the body is very solid but the paint shows its age upon closer inspection. The Speedometer and odometer work and paperwork from the 1980s shows mileage in the 30,000 mile range. It currently has 36,000 miles showing on the odometer. I have many more pictures and videos so let me know what you need and I will send them. There is no visible rot but there were some amateur repairs to the trunk floor that were done many years ago. This is a very solid platform for a restoration or fix the exhaust, replace the tires and use it as is. It cleaned up quite well and the blue paint now shines. All four original hubcaps are mint.
This is not a car you can drive home (maybe if you are local) and will require some work to get it roadworthy. I am reluctantly selling it to fund another project and decided not to make any further repairs which will allow the new owner to make their own choices (wheels, tires, exhaust, etc.) This vehicle is being sold with the Connecticut Q1 form which is a legal bill of sale. Connecticut is a non-title state for historic vehicles. I do have previous registration and insurance cards which will go with the vehicle. Please message or call with any questions or if you need any pictures. The reserve is below the purchase price.
