1965 Buick Other Description

1965 Buick Special 2 door Convertible. Tan / beige body and top. Wildcat 310, V-8 engine. 30,319 miles. No air conditioning, power steering, drum brakes, mechanical windows, mechanical seats, push button AM radio. Bought off the showroom floor in 1965 and only owned by one person, my Mom. She drove it locally when she was driving. The car has been in her enclosed garage in Studio City, California, and not driven or run for at least 10 years (she owned another car). She passed away last year and it is time to sell the car to a good home. Engine was running fine before it was garaged. Car hasn’t been started for at least 10 years. Body and top are in good shape (although I don’t know if the convertible top motor works or not). No major accidents. May have been repainted once. Front seat upholstery has some splits, back seat upholstery is in better shape. Has all of the original hubcaps and also original yellow on black California license plates PFP 993. Registration is current. Sold as is. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.

I received the following comments from somebody...
So...... this battered and torn car was only driven 30K miles in a 41 year period? If it was parked inside how did the interior get worn so bad? Why does it look like its been outside for several years? May have been painted too? Come on man!! It has 130K miles I am sure.
Here is my response...
Actually it's 51 years :-) My parents lived in 4 locations in those 51 years (Van Nuys, Studio City, Studio City and Studio City), all within about a 5 mile circle of each other. My Mom didn't work so there are no commute miles. My Dad said the longest trip they took in the car was once from L.A. to Las Vegas and back. My Mom used the car to take her kids to school (within 1 or 2 miles of our houses) and run errands. For the upholestery, all I can say is that it wore out. It's been sitting in the sun and heat of Los Angeles for lots of those 51 years. I know my parents replaced the plastic rear window at least once, since the plastic went completely opaque from sun exposure. As I said in the description, I think the car may have been repainted once, although my Dad doesn't really remember. If it was, the color was either identical or close to the original color, I remember the car being the color in the picture since I was a kid. Also, if it was repainted, I don't know why, but it wasn't because of any major accident. There may have been some minor things, but my Mom was never involved in anything approaching a major accident.
