1955 Buick 70 Roadmaster Riviera

MotoeXotica is pleased to announce our latest offering, 1955 Buick 70 Roadmaster Riviera. By 1954 General Motors started to use their all C-body platform on “Roadmaster” and “Super” models under the Buick and Cadillac brand. These were big luxury cars that were intended to cruise America’s Eisenhower Interstate System once it was completed. This particular car is an excellent example of a near factory condition Buick 70 Roadmaster Riviera. Boasting a painstaking and highly detailed frame-on restoration; this dry climate West Coast car was in extremely solid well preserved original condition prior to restoration. Finished in captivating Willow Green over a Carlsbad Black interior, he exterior of the car is remarkably straight with only very minor imperfections only visible on very close inspection. Stainless and chrome are also excellent showing no major signs of pitting or age. The weather stripping and rubber are in great shape with no cracking or weathering.

Outfitted with almost every available option offered, his Roadmaster was the pinnacle premium luxury coupe built by Buick in 1955. Taking a step inside, he interior is as it was when new with every refurbished item done to factory specs. Both bench seats have been recovered in the two tone green vinyl and green cloth inserts; which look great and are in fantastic condition as well. The overall presentation of the interior is extremely inviting and around the shop, e have nicknamed the interior as “Emerald City”. All gauges are original and functional, ncluding the “Redline” speedometer and clock. All power options, uch as power windows and power seats, re in good working order, ith the exception of the vacuum wipers and horn. Factory air conditioning still works and has very unique, nd functioning, ear exposed vents.

Under the hood, uick’s 322 CI Nailhead V8 remains original to the car and has the correct Airpower 4-barrel carburetor and Dynaflow transmission adjoined. Turn the key and push down on the starter and the car starts with no hesitation. An interesting feature of the Dynaflow transmission allowed pitch of the stator blades to change under hard throttle to increase acceleration. Power steering and power drum brakes are in great operating condition and make this large Buick an pleasure to drive. The underside of the car is extremely solid and dry.

50’s Buicks have always been known for their solid feel and excellent road manners. One would have a very difficult time finding a better looking, nd a smoother driving, uick 70 Roadmaster Riviera. We believe this example to be one of the finest available and a true investment grade car.
