1987 Buick Grand National Description

I'm listing this car for a friend. He is moving out west and can't take the car with him. I cant believe he is selling it after having it 30 years. He walked into a Buick dealer in April of 1987 and bought it brand new. It was purchased as a collector car from day one. It has never been a daily driver automobile. He always kept it as a specialty car, driving it only 227 miles per year since new. It has never been left outside, raced, abused, smoked in, or wrecked or damaged in any way. In fact, he is very adamant that no one has ever sat in the back seat !!! The car still has the original dealer stock tag in the windshield from the day it rolled off the truck ! Still has the factory protective coating sheet on the dash/radio that is usually removed before the car is delivered. Has the protective rubber door edge guard that was used in the factories shipping lot and on the transport truck. Also has a tag on the seat that shows where the seat was made and on what shift. ( that was intended to be removed when the car was cleaned for delivery)It has always had a set of aftermarket floor mats protecting the carpets. The car comes with a set of "Grand National " factory mats that are in the trunk, still in the plastic . This car has never been apart, painted, or even a brake drum removed since it came down the assembly line 30 years ago. And yes, the tires are all the original, date coded tires it was built with. We have every piece of documentation the car came with since new. including : Original window sticker. Owners manual. Goodyear tire booklet. Assembly line "option line ticket". ( that was always thrown out when these cars were being cleaned for delivery) Wheel lock registration card. Sales invoice. Copy of the orig title. Letters from Buick motor division. Installment sales contract. Application for title. Shipping carriers sheet. Pre-delivery inspection sheet from the dealers service department. Customer satisfaction new car delivery sheet. Selling dealers stock number tag. Warranty book all filled out with a delivery date of 4/25/87 and 3 miles. Dealer key tags and key numbers. Even a hat and shirt that came with the car new. This is a highly documente, 1 owne, babied car. Although he had no plans of ever racing or using the car hard. He did have some upgrades done to it. Aftermarket exhaust. Programmable chip. K&N filter. And an aftermarket intake horn.All the orig parts come with the car. Including the factory exhaust. The paint on this car is all the factory paint. These were built with a protective coating sprayed on at the factory on the lower panels.. This coatinghas a known history of peeling. And this car has a few spots like that. The car is so origina, Hedid not want to do anything with it. You can only say 100 % factory paint once. They also have a know defect with the headliners coming loose. This car has its factory orig headliner in it. And is only loose in one small area above the drivers seat. I tried to take a photo of it, put you couldn't see it. I have to ad that that you need to remember that this car is 30 years old . So it is not perfect.. there are normal marks and imperfections that come with 30 years going by...... Seats, dash, steering wheel, door panels, etc ..... Are all absolutely nice.. Just what you would expect from a 6000 mile car. Under the hood, in the trunk, under the car, are all remarkably nice also. This is a highly optioned car for sure : Power locks, tinted glass, power windows, electric trunk release. trunk dress up trim, body side mouldings, door edge guards, rear defroster, front seat reading lamps, lighted vanity mirror, body colored remote mirrors, limited-slip differential, cruise control, tilt wheel, tungsten halogen headlamps, headlamp on indicator, twilight sentinel headlamp control, heavy duty battery, theft deterrent system, automatic power antenna, concert sound speaker system, Am-FM cassette with graphic equalizer, scan and clock. electronic instrumentation, power 6 way drivers seat. All the option boxes were checked off besides the T-tops. Total price just for the added options was $ 6,298.00 !!!! This car drives like absolutely brand new. You would think you had gone back 30 years and were test driving right off the lot. Its free of squeaks and rattles. And even smells new. Tracks arrow straight. And is super fast.....All the documents, shirt, picture in frame, hat, floor mats, go to the new owner of the car. They are going up in value, and not done. This particular car will be in the $50- $60,000.00 range in just a couple of years.
