1989 Cadillac DeVille Description

Unfortunately, his is a re-list because of a "non-paying" bidder, ho asked for additional time to pay, as given A LOT of additional time, nd has failed to perform....now for weeks!
ebay's PC police don't allow use of other terms, uch as "deadbeat" or "fraudulent" or "irresponsible", ince they might be offensive to fraudsters, adflies or deadbeats who might, omeday, e honest with other sellers....
He lost out on a great deal, o please read the listing below, hich is exactly as it was originally, /font>AND please do take a look at another incredible old car I'm now forced to sell, n listing number
*************
No matter how old we get, e seem to just keep on having goals and creating projects to help with achieving them........until we're told that the cancer has come back, annot be treated, nd that remaining time is a matter of weeks.

Three years ago this month, was fooling around in ebay motors and had a huge deja vu! There, ight before my eyes, as the best Cadillac I'd ever owned.....every detail absolutely identical to the one I'd enjoyed over twenty years ago - until a (former) friend of mine borrowed and totalled it! Everyone seemed to want to borrow it, ctually, ince it even got 30 mpg on the highway while being so beautiful.
It was gorgeous in all respects and had about 40 Kfewermiles on it than mine had had! A true wealthy old couple's car, arely driven and always garaged, o hint of corrosion, ealer-maintained; etc., tc., tc. The Autocheck indicated some sort of accident, ut there is no evidence I could see of any repair on the car or in the extensive service history I got with it.
I had to have it, ince I'm pretty old and this would be the ideal old guy's "last" personal driver, o I took the delightful AMTRAK train ride to New York and picked it up with temp tags to drive it home. It looked and seemed to run just as it should, o I gave them the money and took the 400-mile ride home. All went well, xcept that I couldn't get much heat out of the climate control on a cold night in February.
I took it to the shop I was using and told them to check out the heat problem and go completely through it to replace anything too old to trust or in need of repair. Sadly, he owner, ho I really respected, as busy and he put a young, nmotivated and uncaring "tech" on my job - an easy one - OK with me, ince I was in no big hurry. Wheel bearings, couple of brake cylinders, ome belts and hoses and the like were perfectly rational and all seemed great when I picked it up......except it overheated as soon as I'd left the shop. That led to a complete replacement of the cooling system, adiator included, nd of the entire A/C system, s well, y trial and error, ver the ensuing several months.
Over a year had passed accomplishing all of this, long with over $3,000.00 in shop bills. Concurrently, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and was scheduled for surgery. Then, hen I picked it up (another cold February day), found that it STILL wasn't putting out much heat!!
So I took it back and told the boss, aking him take a look at it himself. It took him less than a minute to tell me that it was blowing it's water out from its (new) overflow bottle, hrough its (new) hoses and thermostat, rom its (new) radiator.....and that it could only be a bad head gasket or cracked head.
He could have told me that over a year and thousands of dollars ago!
Now, here's neither time, oney nor reason for me to continue to throw good money after bad, s I'll not be doing any more driving, hus giving you the opportunity to pick up a lovely survivor for almost nothing - with the opportunity to make it into a really nice survivor/driver for very little. People love these things so much that you could just part it out for a big profit. Almost everything on it interchanges among most '89 - '93 FWD Cadillacs.
It's gotta' go...and for whatever we can get for it, o avoid extra hassles for my kids after I'm gone. I'm into it over $5,000.00 in all, nd - to the best of my knowledge - everything is working (even the power antenna) except the engine, hich did start and run, n spite of its problems, nd, ow, he fuel pump, hich has been sitting in old, ad gas for too long. A good, 5K-mile 4.5 can be found for around $500.00, r this one can be pulled and rebuilt to keep the car completely original.
Please bid whatever you wish and make a non-refundable deposit of $200.00 or more upon winning the auction. You won't be disappointed and you will have reasonable time to move it out, t your own expense, f course. It will be made available to you for inspection by appointment, hen one of my boys or friends can get with you. Call my cell - 757-927-8729 - or email me via ebay with questions or to take a look.
Since I'm out of time and patience, nyone with fewer than 10 net positive feedbacks needs to call me to reassure me that he's not some 12-year-old giggling and gaming the system.
Thanks, veryone!
