This big, blue haired beauty is Saint Valentine. She is a 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Flatop Sedan. Only a few thousand of this model were made and is the longest, heaviest piece of metal you can find. After 12 years of ownership, it's time for her to find a new garage to call home. Parting with her will be made easier by knowing the future owner understands a few things:
Title was lost in Hurricane Ike but is clear and I'll get a replacement
The previous owner made me promise it would never be a lead sled. That agreement holds true to whoever buys it. If you're plannin' on slammin', this is not the car for you.
It's never been a showroom car. This was something we drove a lot, had a ton of fun with and received countless thumbs up signs from people who saw us float by. The new owner will need to be prepared that people will tell you a lot of stories about their grandparents, get the model year wrong by a few years and will never see the blemishes you see. It's a rolling piece of American made history.
The car has reliably run for years and had a significant mechanic stay for some updates in 2007. She has been in a garage for around 10 months and not run, she will need a little prep to get up and going.
Interior is original but needs to be replaced and there is significant rust issues around the back doors, wheel wells and support of the back window. I've tried to get some photos of the affected areas.
Speedometer works, gas gauge doesn't. Does have an aftermarket AC that needs work. Windshield wipers don't work and radio doesn't either. I'm sure in the right hands that's not a problem, we never focused on that work but did do work on breaking system and wiring.
This car is 57 years old and has lived its life outside. You would be the 4th owner of it.
It looks like a spaceship because the designer loved rocket ships. I, too, love rocket ships but that's neither here nor there.
