1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville
Rare and Beautiful car. Model/Style 57-6237SDX. One of only 2,100 built. This was the style designed by the famous Harley Earl, incorporating the Dagmar bumper front and sleek sloped aft with vertical winglets. Wheelbase 129.5, length 222.1”. 365 ci V-8 engine with matching numbers. I found this Eldorado sitting in a warehouse in Illinois where it had been stored for many years and brought it to California to be my project. According to past title, previous owner was a retired farmer in Wisconsin. Vehicle runs and drives but needs tires and more exterior and interior restoration and paint. Some restoration already accomplished:
new stainless steel brake lines
new dual exhaust system
new master cylinder, wheel cylinders and emergency brake cable
new shock absorbers, front and rear
new rear leaf springs
new hoses
new fuel tank and sending unit
new fuel pump
new plugs, filters, fluids
radiator professionally serviced and reinstalled
carburetor rebuilt
Very rare and unique Code 17 Y upholstery, “17” is “Elysian Green Metallic leather throughout” and I don’t know what the “Y” means. Color code on the body plate is 981. Accessory code EH, with option code E for E-Z Eye glass. Standard features with the Eldorado vehicle in 1957 were:
Fog Lamps
6-way Power Seat
Heater
License Frame
Radio
Power Trunk (missing parts)
Saber Wheels
Power Windows
Whitewall Tires
My wife and I bought a motorhome recently and now have 4 grandkids around the country so I don’t have the time to dedicate to this little gem and I want to sellit to someone that will continue the restoration efforts. The car is stored in our warehouse in Moorpark California. Please call Philip at 805-300-5145 if you have any questions or if you'd like to come see the car.
