1984 Cadillac Seville Elegante NO RESERVE
1984 Cadillac Seville Elegante Description
I've owned this car for 12 years, and in that time I've put approximately 10,000 miles in it.
She did its stint as a daily driver in Southern California, before becoming a Sunday car in the high desert of Montana and Idaho, from where I bought it, and shipped it to NY.
Rust free as only a western car can be, always garaged while under my care, moved with me to Arizona and now back to NY. I live in the NYC these days, and having a collector car simply doesn't make sense under my present circumstances.
Car has ~129K miles on it, engine was replaced by Cadillac under goodwill warranty in 1988, when the car had 34K on the clock. Cadillac had finally worked all the kinks out of this unusual aluminum block/iron-headed engine by 1988, as aresult, I've been one of very few owners of a Cadillac of this vintage that isn’t anxiously awaiting the dreaded “death rattle” that attends the coolant poisoning the car’s oil and destroying the engine.
To me this is the ultimate edition of the "bustle back" Cadillac Seville: anElegante, with digital dash, Bose stereo and the touring suspension.
Car has been gone over from stem to stern under my care. She always starts right up, runs beautifully, tracks straight and true, and the (134a converted) A/C blows cold.Interior is in excellent shape, dash has no cracks whatsoever, leather is still supple and fragrant Lloyd heavyweight mats installed, original OEM mats come with car.
Headliner is intact, but is due for replacement. Sun visors are droopy, but you'll get that fixed along with the headliner.
Power door locks are "tired." They do work somewhat, but thesolenoids need to be replaced. New lock actuators come with the car. The fuel door power license plate lock doesn't work; it never has, and I've never missed it.
Brand new seals and weather stripping for the doors also come with the car.
Factory Service Manual, BodyService Manual, Parts and Illustration Catalog, and a bunch of parts (some NOS) come with her.
Original body fillers arebeginning to deteriorate (see pics).
When taking these pictures last week I discovered that one of the rear doors doesn't operate from the outside any more. Clearly the linkage has become disengaged.
Silver paint was re-done about 6 years ago, NOS badging was installed at the same time, including the trunk lock shield emblem. One thing I failed totake into account was the 25 year-old glue holding the colored plastic portion of the emblem, and it fell off in short order. Never got around to replacing it again, and I didn't hate the look.
This is a 33 year old car, and the tires are ~12 years old. While she has always been extremely reliable and the tires look perfect, I don't know that I would just hop in and drive the car across the country. I'd hate for someone to have a blow out in the middle of nowhere intheir new ride.
If you'd like tocome see it and take her for a drive, she's in Nassau County, on Long Island and I can make myselfavailable.
If you need to ask your wife/husband, get a loan, consult your astrologer, whatever, please do itbefore you place your bid.I'm offering this car with no reserve. I no longer have a garage for it, and it's in me mum's driveway. Simply put, it needs to go.
Car is for sale locally, so Imay end up ending this listing early due to cash-in-hand sale.
