I am the second owner of this 1980 Cadillac Seville V8 diesel. I have the original owner's manual, purchase papers, and all maintenance and repair records since purchasing it in 1982 from Lex Depp Cadillac in Florham Park NJ. It has power windows, power leather seats, cassette player, and 4 wheel disc brakes. It has a clear NJ title, owner's manual, etc. and was our daily driver from 1982 to 1991. In 1986 at 87,164 miles, the diesel engine went sour and was replaced with a Goodwrench crate diesel. The car had 111,799 miles on the odometer when I decided to put it in storage after purchasing my uncle's later model Cadillac. PS: I should not have done it because his late-80s Caddy was really ugly but the mileage was ridiculously low. Anyhow, it has been kept under cover for the past 27 years. Before I put a car cover over it and placed the car in a three-sided carpor, I drained the engine oil and filled the entire engine up to the top of the filler with kerosene so the valves etc. would stay lubricated. I also let the air out of the tires and suspended the car on concrete blocks. The interior is in very good condition except the rugs and smell of mice that found their way inside over the years. The leather seats have some stains but I used a spray cleaner on a couple stains and they wiped right off. See photos. Also, the headliner above the rear window is loose. The engine bay and trunk was also home to some mice. Thanks to Mickey and his gang, the rugs should be removed, cleaned and/or replaced. The only other problem was the plastic filler panels next to the bumper ends, the plastic filler panels under the tail lights and license plate. See photos. From what I can see, the chassis, suspension, and underbody are still in good condition. The exterior sheet metal is very good except for some minor rust and some rust dots caused by dampness getting under the car cover. See photos.
Will it run? It "shouldâ€, but I don't know for sure. I intended to power wash the engine bay, drain the kerosene, drop and clean the fuel tank, buy two new batteries, and try to fire it up. But even if it runs, the brakes and brake lines may need replacing and the entire car checked out. I don't have the time or desire to do this as I would have no place to store it because we are in the process of moving. It is being offered at NO RESERVE...slightly above the scrap yard price. Car is being sold as is/where is. Payment iscash, deposit can be with PayPal. Delivery is possible. Questions? Text or leave message at 201-572-7871. Thanks for looking.
